Celtics vs. Clippers Prediction: NBA Odds, Point Spread
The Clippers have won 10 of their last 12 games and are looking like a powerhouse but we know that their results will only be measured by playoff success. Will the Clippers be able to sustain their level of play on Friday or will the Celtics get the best of them?
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Clippers have been stellar at home this season as they have won six straight. However, sometimes dead legs plays a factor when returning off a long road trip, and the Clippers will be playing their first game back after a six-game road trip.
As for Boston, they’re on the road again and fatigue could be an issue. This is their third game of a five-game West Coast road trip and this will also be their third game in four nights.
Boston Celtics
The Celtics continue to be uneven. After a big win over the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday, they flopped against the mediocre Sacramento Kings and lost on Wednesday. This has been the story of their season as they can’t seem to get in rhythm. They were 8-3 at one point in the season but have since lost six of their last nine games.
They’ve gotten tremendous production out of their star forward combination in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown so far this season. Tatum has put up 26.8 points per game on very high efficiency while Brown is looking like he will make it to his first ever All-Star game with 26.6 points per game. This team is missing consistency, though, and injuries have played a large factor in that. Their star point guard Kemba Walker has only played in seven games this season, putting up 15 points per game on below average efficiency, which isn’t ideal. Tatum has also missed five games this season after being placed on the COVID-19 list. This roster is filled with talent but just hasn’t been able to get into the rhythm that they were hoping to get into during the offseason. This game could be a chance to turn that around and pick up a statement win.
Los Angeles Clippers
The Clippers have played fantastic basketball so far this season with their superstar duo of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George leading the pack. Not only do each of these players bring elite defense that can lock down an opposing team’s best player, the offensive output has been electric. Leonard averages 26.3 points per game and leads the team while George puts up 23.7 per contest.
This team has definitely benefited from their offseason addition in Serge Ibaka, who is putting up 12.2 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Their role players have also stepped up so far this season, with Nicolas Batum, Reggie Jackson and Luke Kennard all playing roles in their strong start to the season. The Clippers are a very tough team to beat right now.
