Cavaliers vs. Bucks NBA Betting Odds

The first team to clinch a playoff spot in the NBA this season was Cleveland, which has held the East’s No. 1 seed since Oct. 30 and will finish atop the conference. Now it’s just a matter of finishing with a better record than Western Conference-leading Oklahoma City for home-court advantage in a potential NBA Finals matchup.

As the East’s top seed and assuming it gets through the first-round matchup against the No. 8 seed TBA, the Cavs would face the No. 4 vs. 5 winner in the conference semifinals. And that’s where the Milwaukee Bucks come into play as they sit fourth in the East, almost surely can’t get to third (Knicks) and most likely won’t slip past fifth (Pacers).

Sunday concludes the regular-season series with the Cavs leading 3-0 and all pretty high scoring. All were in the 2024 portion of the schedule with the Bucks were still finding themselves a bit. All-Star Donovan Mitchell leads the Cavs in averaging 23.7 points in the series, while Jarrett Allen is putting up 13.0 points and 12.3 rebounds. Damian Lillard is averaging 38.5 points for the Bucks (missed one game) and Giannis Antetokounmpo 33.5 points and 15.0 rebounds (also missed one).

Cleveland is 7-3 SU & 6-4 ATS in the past 10 meetings with the over-under at 5-5.

Cleveland Cavaliers

Cleveland doesn’t have a single player listed as an injury question for this matchup, which is pretty rare for any team this time of the season. The Cavs won their 13th game in a row Friday, 118-117 in Charlotte in a clear trap game ahead of this marquee matchup. Cleveland trailed by nine with 5:41 remaining but outscored the Hornets 25-15 to end the game. All-Star Donovan Mitchell led the way with 24 points. The Cavs have now has had three winning streaks of 12 or more games this season, the first time that has happened since the 2006-07 Dallas Mavericks. Cleveland has three of the four longest winning streaks in the NBA this season. It is outscoring its opponents by 11.4 PPG overall, the highest PPG differential in team history. With a win tonight, Kenny Atkinson will surpass David Blatt (53-29 in 2014-15) for the most wins by a head coach in his first year with the Cavaliers organization.

Milwaukee Bucks

The Bucks remain without one of the NBA’s top sixth men in Bobby Portis, who is serving a 25-game suspension for violating the league’s anti-drug policy but will get back before the end of the regular season. Reserve guard and former Raptor Gary Trent missed Saturday’s 111-109 home loss with a knee injury and is iffy today. That snapped the Bucks’ four-game winning streak as they were probably looking ahead a bit to this national TV matchup. Damian Lillard missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer. He had 26 points, and Giannis Antetokounmpo had 37 points and 11 rebounds. The Bucks had scored at least 120 points in each game of their winning streak and are 23-1 when scoring at least 120 this season, the best such mark in the league. They are 4-1 ATS in their past five.
