Bucks vs. Suns Prediction: NBA Odds, Point Spread
Milwaukee is looking more like the prohibitive Eastern Conference championship favourite after getting off to a slow start, and is a healthy fave against a Suns team that has surprised many with a 14-8 SU mark through its first 22 games.
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Phoenix bettors might remember what happened the last time these teams met back on March 8. The Suns came in as a 6.5-point underdog, then promptly pulled out a defence-optional 140-131 win to cover with ease. Phoenix is a 5.5-point ‘dog in Wednesday’s rematch, and is 4-2 ATS in its last six games when receiving five or more points at home. The Bucks, meanwhile are just 6-4 SU in 10 road games this season when favoured by 5+ points.
The total is set at 225.5, with Milwaukee having gone 14-10 O/U for the season and Phoenix at 9-14. This number appears to split the difference between the Bucks’ league-best offence and the Suns’ NBA-low pace. The teams have come in below the total in eight of their past 12 head-to-head meetings, though the memory of that 271-point slugfest in their previous meeting will undoubtedly draw some bettors toward the Over.
Milwaukee Bucks
The Milwaukee offence will take on a different look moving forward, with starting point guard Jrue Holiday not traveling with the team due to COVID-19 protocols. Fortunately for the Bucks, they have two capable ball-handlers who should have no trouble shouldering the load. Giannis Antetokounmpo averages 5.6 assists per the season, while fellow forward Khris Middleton dished out 12 assists in the Bucks’ previous game, a 125-112 triumph in Denver.
Phoenix Suns
Phoenix might also have to make do without its starting PG – and this absence would hit the hosts hard. Chris Paul missed the Suns’ last game with a hamstring injury and is questionable for Wednesday. Phoenix had Devin Booker run the offence in Paul’s absence, and Booker responded with 33 points and eight assists in a 119-113 win over Cleveland. But the degree of difficulty is much steeper vs. a Bucks team boasting a league-best +9.9 scoring margin.
