Bucks vs. Lakers Prediction: NBA Odds, Point Spread
The Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Lakers matchup on Wednesday should have been a solid preview of the NBA Finals. Instead, the Los Angeles Lakers are beaten up by injuries and we’re not going to get the contest we were hoping for.
Milwaukee enters this game on the heels of a three-game losing streak and are hoping to right the ship again with a win here. Meanwhile, the Lakers are the complete opposite, they were on a four-game losing streak before winning their past two games over the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Orlando Magic. Will the Bucks get back to winning games or will the Lakers hand them another loss?
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Milwaukee are favoured is an 8.5 point favourite to win on the NBA odds with a total of 222.
The Bucks are just 0-4 against the spread in their past four games but that should change against an injury-riddled Lakers team that hasn’t been playing well lately. While L.A. has won their last two games, it came against two struggling teams who haven’t won many games this year.
On the other hand, the under is 6-1 in the Lakers last seven games overall but that could change here. The Bucks are fantastic offensively – especially when their big three is on the floor at the same time.
Milwaukee Bucks
Milwaukee may have lost their last few games but it doesn’t take away from the fact that they have one of the best trios in all of basketball with the combination of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday. Giannis is putting up MVP numbers yet again with 28.4 points, 11.4 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game while leading the team in all of those categories. When he is out on the floor this is a very hard Bucks team to beat, but when he isn’t, they struggle. Middleton has pitched in 20.4 points per game and Holiday has added on 16.1 points to push this team over the top.
This recent stretch is a bit of a concern as the Bucks lost at home to the Boston Celtics, then rested players and lost to the New York Knicks and then played everyone and lost to the Los Angeles Clippers. Even so, this feels like a get-right spot for them.
Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers are in a very tough situation right now as their two best players, LeBron James and Anthony Davis, are still unavailable due to injuries. The team has played poorly without them but they will get a shot in the arm with the arrival of centre Andre Drummond. He is expected to make his debut after being signed by the team a few days ago. He should combine nicely with Dennis Schroder and Kyle Kuzma and could give this team a huge boost on the glass. This team hasn’t looked great without James or Davis and will need big efforts from guys like Kuzma and Montrezl Harrell just to keep this competitive. Look for the Bucks to roll in this spot.
