Philadelphia 76ers vs. Toronto Raptors Prediction, NBA Odds
The NBA odds will depend on the status of some key injured players.
76ers vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds
Without question, the most disappointing team in the NBA this season at least among those alleged legitimate title contenders is Philadelphia as the Sixers barely had their All-Star Big 3 of Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and Paul George on the court together due to injuries or rest, etc., with Embiid out for the season and George probably not far behind in that regard.
And now the Sixers have two of potentially the league’s worst contracts for the next few seasons belonging to Embiid and George, who have lengthy injury histories. It’s very possible that former Raptors coach Nick Nurse takes the fall in the offseason and is fired because president of basketball operations Daryl Morey won’t be firing himself.
Toronto won’t be winning many series this season but would clinch this one with a victory as it leads 2-0 and there’s just one more meeting left on March 30 in Philly. Scottie Barnes is averaging 30.0 points and 7.5 rebounds in the two. Embiid and George played in one game each and Maxey is averaging only 14.5 points in his two.
Philadelphia is still 7-3 SU in the past 10 but 4-6 ATS. The over-under is 6-4.
Philadelphia 76ers
When it comes to Philadelphia, it’s always hard to know which starters will play on a given night as the team has waived the white flag on the season. We know Joel Embiid is done, and Tyrese Maxey, Paul George, Kelly Oubre and Andre Drummond sat out Monday’s 132-123 loss in Atlanta. George already has been ruled out for this one, and I’m not sure why the team would bother to let him play again this season, either.
Quentin Grimes led the club with 35 points on Monday and generally is the top offensive option when Maxey (only Eastern Conference player with at least 1,300 total points and 90 steals this season) and George both sit. Grimes is averaging 18.6 points in 14 games since coming over from Dallas at the trade deadline. He has reached the 30-point mark four times with Philadelphia after failing to do so in 47 games with the Mavericks this season. That looks like a steal of a deal in hindsight for Philadelphia, a rare piece of good news. The Sixers are 3-13 ATS in their past 16.
Toronto Raptors
Toronto set a franchise single-game record with a whopping 73 rebounds (most in the NBA this season and most in the league in regulation by a team since March 1992) in Monday’s 119-104 win over Washington to split the two-game set at Scotiabank Arena and win for the fourth time in five games overall. Ontario native AJ Lawson, on a two-way contract, went crazy off the bench with a career-high 32 points and 12 rebounds. He became one of four Canadians all-time to score at least 30 points in a Raptors uniform. Joining him with a points-rebound double-double were Scottie Barnes, RJ Barrett and Orlando Robinson, marking the first time in Raptors history they had four guys with double-digit boards.
The Raptors had at least 20 offensive rebounds for the third game in a row, which is also a franchise record. Toronto had 28 of those against the Wizards because it only made 43 of 109 field goals. The 109 attempts were a season high. Jakob Poeltl, Gradey Dick and Ochai Agbaji were out Monday, but Poeltl will play Wednesday. Agbaji and Scottie Barnes are questionable, while Dick, Brandon Ingram, Ja’Kobe Walter and Jonathan Mogbo are out. Still no indication Ingram is close to making his team debut. The Raptors are 4-1 ATS in their past five.
