When healthy, this Philadelphia squad looks incredibly talented. It all starts in the paint with superstar Joel Embiid. He’s currently putting up MVP-caliber numbers again, averaging 33.5 points, 10.1 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.6 blocks per game. The center is performing better than almost everybody in the league, and it’s helping Philadelphia stay hot.
He’s backed up by James Harden, another former All-NBA star. Harden is pitching in 21.3 points and 10.9 assists per game to make life easier for Embiid. His facilitating has been incredible as he leads the league in assists per game. That makes everything much easier for everyone else in the offense.
These two have formed quite a connection throughout the season. However, Embiid is listed as questionable to hit the floor here with foot soreness. Check in on his status before placing your bets.
New York Knicks
The Knicks officially have an All-Star on their roster in Julius Randle. Randle has been performing at a high level as of late, helping to average 24.7 points, 10.9 boards, and 4.1 assists a night for the Knicks. Free agent signing Jalen Brunson had an All-Star case himself, picking up 23.2 points and 6.2 assists a night. He averaged an incredible 28.7 points per game in January.
The challenge for this team right now is their defense has fallen off. They’ve allowed 117 or more in four of their last five. Unless those numbers come down, they’re not likely to snap out of this funk.
