Two heavyweights of the Eastern Conference will meet for the third and final time in the regular season when the Milwaukee Bucks play host to the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday afternoon.  This will be the finale of a two-game set that saw the Bucks come away with a 124-117 win on Thursday.

Milwaukee opened as a sizeable favourite on the NBA odds.

NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Sixers have struggled against Milwaukee over the last couple of years, going 1-5 straight up in their last six games against the Bucks.  Philadelphia is 30-25-4 against the spread this season, but they’ve failed to cover in their last five games.  The Under has been a trend in 76ers’ games with the total falling short of the number in 12 of their last 17 games.

Milwaukee is going for the regular season sweep against the Sixers after winning both of the previous two meetings this year.  The Bucks are just 26-32 ATS, but they’ve managed to cover in four of their previous six games.  The Over has hit in nine of Milwaukee’s last 10 home games and four of their last five games overall.

Philadelphia 76ers

In his first season behind the bench, Doc Rivers has turned Philadelphia into a defensive powerhouse.  They rank second in the league in defensive rating and steals, while they lead the league in blocks.  Two other offseason additions, Danny Green and Seth Curry, have helped on the offensive side of the ball, each shooting an identical 41 per cent from beyond the arc.  Joel Embiid has made it impossible to not consider him for the MVP award this season.  The Sixers’ big man is averaging 30 points, 11 rebounds, 1.4 blocks and a steal per game on 54.4 per cent shooting from the field.  Embiid is nearly impossible to stop offensively and his been intimidating on the defensive side of the ball.  He led the Sixers with 24 points, three rebounds and three assists on Thursday.

Milwaukee Bucks

Generally known as a defensive team, the Bucks are starting to put more points on the board as they gear up for a playoff run.  The’ve been getting big contributions from Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday, who all average over 15 points per game.  The Bucks lead the league in points per game and defensive rebounds and they’re third in 3-point shooting.  Bobby Portis has quietly been having a strong season, averaging 11 points and seven rebounds in a limited role off the bench.  Antetokounmpo is another strong MVP candidate.  The Greek Freak is averaging 28.5 points, 11 rebounds and six assists on 56 per cent shooting from the field.
