Jim Miller vs Jesse Butler: UFC Fight Night Odds
Jim Miller is one for the history books. His win last July at UFC 276 gave him his 24th victory, the most in the history of the Ultimate Fighter Championship. His opponent this Saturday is Jesse Butler, who is filling in for Jared Gordon, who himself was replacing Ludovitz Klein.
At the time of writing, it’s not clear who the favourite is considered to be. Check out MMA odds as they develop.
Jim Miller UFC Fight Night Odds
Hailing from Sparta Township, New Jersey – a great name for the birthplace of an MMA fighter – Miller is one of the stalwarts of UFC. His overall fighting record is a brilliant 35-17, but then again one should expect great things from someone who has been active since 2005 in as physically demanding a sport like this.
For all his success, the last fight didn’t go so well. It was in February at UFC Fight Night 219 against Alexander Hernandez – who was replacing Gabriel Benitez. It didn’t deter Hernandez, who got the better of Miller via unanimous decision. Miller’s last win was nearly a year ago, the record-setting win, at UFC 276 in July 2022. Donald Cerrone was the victim that day. Incidentally, he was a replacement for Bobby Green, whom Miller had tried fighting several times already.
Miller is a bit more heavy set than his opposite number, weighing in at 1698 lbs to Butler’s 145.8 lbs. The extra bulk could come in handy. Jim Miller’s reach extends to 71 inches, one shy of what Butler is capable of. Of all the ways to win a match, submitting opponents is the New Jersey native’s preferred method, earning 54 per cent of them in that manner. Another 29 per cent come via favourable decisions, and the remaining 17 via KO and TKO. Perhaps it is that success at claiming wins through submission that explains his relatively low significant hits per minute at 2.85. On the flips side, he goes for 1.56 takedowns every 15 minutes, with an accuracy of 43 per cent.
Jesse Butler UFC Fight Night Odds
Born in West Monroe, Louisiana and fighting there as well, the 31-year-old Jesse Butler has being thrown into the ring at the very last minute, pardon the pun. To be fair, he has agreed to this, and good on him. This marks his first battle in UFC. He was previously with FFC, where he compiled a respectable 12-4 record.
The end of his time in FFC was on a high, as he has conquered his five previous opponents. There is a brilliant highlight circulating online in which he knocks the living daylights out of Masio Fallen at Fury FC 56 last year. If that’s what’s stepping into the octagon on Saturday night, Jim Miller may be in a more serious fight than he bargained for.
Statistically, Butler battles his way to victory 67 per cent of the time thanks to submissions, making this bout with Miller all the more intriguing. Another 25 per centre of his successful tilts come via decision, and 8 through KO and TKO.
