UFC Fight Night 260 Odds: Carlos Ulberg vs. Dominick Reyes Prediction
UFC Fight Night 260 will take place in Perth, Australia, at the RAC Center on Sunday. The Main Event is set to feature a thrilling fight between Carlos Ulberg and Dominick Reyes, and will be in the UFC Light Heavyweight division.
While this Main Event is not a title fight, it does have plenty at stake. Ulberg is ranked third in the Light Heavyweight division, while Reyes is ranked seventh. Regardless of the result, the winner is sure to climb the Light Heavyweight rankings and could be in line for a title challenge very soon.
Carlos Ulberg vs. Dominick Reyes Odds and Betting Trends
Ulberg enters this one as the red-hot -250 favourite on the UFC odds board, while Reyes is a +200 underdog to pull off the upset. Oddsmakers expect the fight to end inside the distance, with that fight prop listed at -475, while the bout going under 2.5 rounds is available at -155. A knockout finish looks likely with that available at -400. The odds here make sense, especially with Ulberg being the favourite. This is likely because he has won eight UFC fights in a row, while Reyes is 4-4 over the same stretch.
Carlos Ulberg
Ulberg enters this fight with an overall MMA record of 12-1 and is 9-1 in the UFC. The 34-year-old from New Zealand most recently beat Jan Blachowicz by unanimous decision back in March. Ulberg’s fighting style focuses on a heavy dose of striking, to the tune of averaging 6.77 significant strikes per minute with a striking accuracy of 55 per cent. His grappling, while not obsolete, is not nearly as strong, as he is averaging 0.58 takedowns every 15 minutes with a takedown accuracy of 60% and a takedown defence of 85%.
Dominick Reyes
Reyes holds a 15-4 MMA record and is 9-4 in the UFC. The 35-year-old from the United States beat Nikita Krylov by KO/TKO back in April. Reyes’ fighting style is similar to that of Ulberg’s, as he relies heavily on his striking. He is averaging 5.58 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 54 per cent. As for his grappling, Reyes is averaging just 0.31 takedowns every 15 minutes with a takedown accuracy of 28 per cent and a takedown defence of 82 per cent. With that in mind, it is no surprise that the odds on this fight ending by KO/TKO are so heavily juiced.
UFC Fight Night 260 Prediction: Who Will Win Ulberg vs. Reyes?
My best bet for the UFC Fight Night 260 Main Event will target Ulberg to win. Simply put, Ulberg has been far more consistent compared to Reyes, which is shown by the fact that he has won his last eight UFC fights in a row. Meanwhile, Reyes has won just four of his last eight UFC fights. Additionally, Ulberg has the clear edge in both striking volume and grappling, so given his form, backing Ulberg to win (-250) will be my best bet for this weekend’s UFC odds.
