UFC Fight Night 258 Odds, Predictions: Will Benoit Saint Denis score another KO victory?

This event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 6 at the Accor Arena in Paris, France.

While there are plenty of great fights to look forward to, including several fighters making their UFC debuts, the main event will feature a Middleweight division fight between Caio Borralho and Nassourdine Imavov, both of whom are looking to make their claim for a title shot.

With plenty of great fights to look forward to in Paris, let’s break down my three best bets for UFC Fight Night 258 ahead of Saturday’s event.

Benoit Saint Denis vs. Mauricio Ruffy best bet: Fight to End by KO/TKO (-150)

Our first best bet for UFC Fight Night 258 will target the Co-Main Event between Benoit Saint Denis and Mauricio Ruffy to end by KO/TKO. Saint Denis enters this fight with an MMA record of 14-3 and 6-3 in the UFC. As for Ruffy, he has an MMA record of 12-1 and is 4-0 in the UFC.

One thing that holds for both fighters is the rate at which their fights end by KO/TKO. Saint Denis has seen five of his nine UFC fights end by this method, which also includes four of his last five inside the Octagon. Ruffy, on the other hand, has seen three of his four UFC fights end by KO/TKO and in 12 of his 13 career MMA fights. Given the fact that both fighters have seen plenty of their fights end by this method, backing the same here looks the right way to go.

Ruffy is a -160 favourite to win on the MMA odds, while Saint Denis is a +135 underdog.

Sam Patterson vs. Trey Waters best bet: Fight to go the Distance – No (-210)

Our second-best bet for UFC Fight Night 258 will target the preliminary card fight between Sam Patterson and Trey Waters and for it to end inside the distance. Patterson enters this fight with an MMA record of 13-2-1 and is 4-1 in the UFC. As for Waters, he has an MMA record of 9-1 and is 2-1 in the UFC.

Patterson is already known for having a high finish rate in his fights, seeing that all five of his UFC fights have ended inside the distance. Further, 14 of his 16 career MMA fights have ended before going to the judges.

Waters’ finish rate is not nearly as high, having seen just one of his three UFC fights end inside the distance. However, he has seen seven of his 10 career MMA fights end inside the distance. Since both fighters have a high finish rate, backing this fight to end inside the distance will be our play.

Patterson is a -190 favourite to win, while Waters is a +155 underdog.

Rinat Fakhretdinov vs. Andreas Gustafsson best bet: Rinat Fakhretdinov ML (+105)

We have a plus-money play for our third and final UFC Fight Night 258 best bet, focusing on backing Rinat Fakhretdinov to beat Andreas Gustafsson. This fight is scheduled to be on the preliminary card and will be in the Welterweight division. 

Fakhretdinov has already had plenty of success as an MMA fighter and comes into this fight with an overall record of 23-1-1. His success has also carried over to the UFC, where he is 5-0-1. Gustafsson is actually the small favourite, and has an advantage in striking grappling. That being said, Fakhretdinov has not lost since 2013, and looks to hold excellent value in extending his impressive record.

Gustafsson is a -135 favourite to win, while Fakhretdinov is a +100 underdog.
