UFC 259 Previews, Predictions and Best Bets
While this weekend has a ton of great college football and NFL games on the schedule, the UFC will also be in action on Saturday night. This event is dubbed UFC Fight Night 259 and takes place at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.
The main event is set to feature a UFC featherweight fight between Diego Lopes and Jean Silva, with the winner in a great spot to make his case for the Featherweight title. With that, my UFC Fight Night 259 preview will focus on three of my best bets for Saturday’s event in Texas.

UFC David Martinez vs Rob Font best bet: David Martinez ML (+110)
My first best bet for UFC Fight Night 259 will target David Martinez to win against Rob Font on the main card.
Martinez is one of the up-and-coming UFC featherweight fighters, as he carries a 12-1 MMA record and 2-0 in the UFC. Martinez most recently beat Saimon Oliveira by KO/TKO back in May 2025. Throughout his career, Martinez’s style of fighting has always revolved around being a stand-up striker. He is averaging 5.40 significant strikes per minute and has a solid striking accuracy of 52 per cent. Additionally, Martinez has excellent defence, absorbing just 2.70 strikes per minute with a striking defence of 67 per cent.
Martinez is the small favourite in this fight, but given Font’s recent inconsistencies in the UFC, I like Martinez to pull off the upset. Font is 3-4 in his last seven UFC fights; therefore, backing Martinez to win (+110) will be my pick.
UFC Alexander Hernandez vs Diego Ferreira best bet: Alexander Hernandez ML (-110)
My second-best bet at UFC Fight Night 259 focuses on Alexander Hernandez beating Diego Ferreira as part of the preliminary card.
Hernandez is an MMA veteran and enters this fight with an MMA record of 17-8 and a 9-7 mark in the UFC. He excels at striking, averaging 4.36 strikes per minute with an accuracy of 40 per cent. However, his grappling is also strong, averaging 1.20 takedowns every 15 minutes.
This fight is essentially a pick ’em, but I like Hernandez to win. He is in better form, having won four of his last six UFC fights and his last three fights in a row.
As for Ferreira, he has lost four of his last six UFC fights, including his most recent fight in January 2025. Given the form of both fighters, my second pick for UFC Fight Night 259 will be for Alexander Hernandez to win (-110).
UFC Claudio Puelles vs Joaquim Silva best bet: Claudio Puelles ML (-110)
My third best bet for UFC Fight Night 259 will be backing Claudio Puelles to beat Joaquim Silva as part of the Preliminary Card. Puelles enters this fight with an MMA record of 13-4 and is 5-3 in the UFC. His fighting style revolves around his grappling, as he is averaging 3.17 takedowns every 15 minutes and 1.2 submission attempts.
This fight is evenly matched, but Puelles is 5-2 over his last seven UFC fights, while Silva is an inconsistent 3-4 over the same stretch. For that reason, my third pick will be for Claudio Puelles to win (-110).
