UFC 259 Odds, Prediction: Diego Lopes vs. Jean Silva

UFC Fight Night 259 takes place in San Antonio, Texas, at the Frost Bank Center this Saturday night. The main event of the evening will see 30-year-old Diego Lopes, out of Brazil, take on 28-year-old Jean Silva, also out of Brazil. This fight will be in the UFC Featherweight division.

This fight between Lopes and Silva has plenty at stake, considering Lopes ranks 2nd in the Featherweight division and Silva ranks 10th. Regardless of who ends up winning, they are sure to vault higher in the featherweight division rankings, making it that much more important for both fighters.

Silva is a -250 favourite to win on the MMA odds, while Lopes is a +200 underdog.

Diego Lopes vs. Jean Silva Odds and Betting Trends

Looking at the odds for this fight, it is immediately clear that Silva is the heavy favourite, as he carries a -250 moneyline price compared to Lopes’ +200 odds. This is partly because Silva has won all six of his UFC fights, while Lopes is coming off a loss.

Other odds would strongly suggest that this fight will end inside the distance (-290), more specifically by KO/TKO. Further, the most likely result according to the odds is a Silva win by KO/TKO (-110).

Even though this fight is expected to end inside the distance, the odds also suggest that it will not be a short fight, as Over 2.5 Rounds has a -165 price compared to Under 2.5 Rounds at +130.

Diego Lopes

Lopes enters this fight with an MMA record of 26-7 and 5-3 in the UFC. Throughout his MMA and UFC career, his fighting style has leaned more towards striking, as his grappling has never been strong. That said, Lopes has 12 submission wins in his career.

He also has 10 wins by KO/TKO and four wins by decision. Of his losses, two have been by KO/TKO and five have been by decision. Lopes’ most recent fight was a loss to Alexander Volkanovski by unanimous decision back in April 2025. In that fight, Lopes was out-struck 158 to 63.

Jean Silva

Silva enters this fight with an MMA record of 16-2 and a 6-0 mark in the UFC. His fighting style revolves around his striking, indicated by the fact that he has 12 wins via KO/TKO. He also has three wins by submission and one by decision, while both losses in his career were by decision.

Silva’s most recent fight was a win against Bryce Mitchell by submission back in April 2025. In that fight, Silva was out-stuck 36 to 27 and was taken down once; however, he knocked down Mitchell and was able to submit him in the second round.

UFC Fight Night 259 Prediction: Who Will Win Diego Lopes vs. Jean Silva?

My top pick for the UFC Fight Night 259 main event will target Jean Silva to win. While Lopes has had some success in the UFC, Silva has been perfect. Of his six UFC fights, Silva has won five of them by either KO/TKO or submission. Further, Silva has a stronger striking volume, he is more accurate with his strikes, and absorbs less damage than Lopes.

Because Silva looks to have the advantage over Lopes in nearly every area, my top pick for the main event at UFC Fight Night 259 will be for Jean Silva to win (-235), and I’ll also be sprinkling on Jean Silva to win by KO/TKO/DQ (-110).
