MMA Odds and Picks: How to Bet UFC Fight Night 261

The UFC is gearing up for another international event this weekend, that being UFC Fight Night 261. This event is scheduled for Saturday, October 11, and will take place at the Farmasi Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

UFC Fight Night 261 will feature a total of 12 fights, starting with a seven-fight Preliminary Card, and followed by a five-fight Main Card that will feature a UFC Lightweight Main Event between Charles Oliveira and Mateusz Gamrot.

My article will include my three best bets from UFC Fight Night 261, which will include fights from both the Preliminary and Main Card.

Charles Oliveira vs Mateusz Gamrot

Best bet: Mateusz Gamrot ML (-105)

My first best bet at UFC Fight Night 261 will target Mateusz Gamrot to beat Charles Oliveira in the Main Event. Gamrot enters this fight with an MMA record of 25-3 and 8-3 in the UFC. He is a solid striker, averaging 3.35 significant strikes per minute with a striking accuracy of 51%. However, his grappling has been better, averaging 5.33 takedowns every 15 minutes. Gamrot has a takedown accuracy of 36% and a takedown defense of 90%.

Oliveira is the slight favourite; however, he has started to become inconsistent in the UFC, making Gamrot look to be the better betting option. Gamrot has won four of his last five UFC fights, while Oliveira has won just two of his last five. Further, Gamrot has the edge in striking and grappling.

Vicente Luque vs Joel Alvarez

Best bet: Fight to End by KO/TKO (+100)

My next best bet will focus on backing the Main Card fight between Vincente Luque and Joel Alvarez to end by KO/TKO.

Luque enters this fight with an MMA record of 23-11-1 and 16-7 in the UFC. He is known for his striking, averaging 5.02 significant strikes per minute. As for Alvarez, he enters this fight with an MMA record of 22-3 and 7-2 in the UFC. Alvarez also prefers to strike, as he is averaging 4.51 significant strikes per minute.

Alvarez is the significant favourite, which is why I will be looking for this fight to end by KO/TKO. Luque has seen two of his last five UFC fights end by KO/TKO, while Alvarez has seen four of his last five UFC fights do the same.

Valter Walker vs Mohammed Usman

Best bet: Valter Walker Win by Finish (-120

Walker enters this fight with an MMA record of 14-1 and 3-1 in the UFC. While he has not been in the UFC long, his grappling ability is elite. Walker is averaging 5.43 takedowns every 15 minutes and 2.0 submission attempts.

In four UFC fights, Walker has won three times by submission, which includes his last three fights in a row.
