Live UFC 187 Betting Odds: Fight Card Time, Predictions and Results
UFC 187 will see a new champion at light heavyweight and a title defense at middleweight. From odds to predictions, here’s your primer.
While this may not be the Ferarri card UFC 187 was supposed to be, nobody in their right mind should be complaining about driving a Lexus, either.
So, Jon Jones is out following his legal troubles and lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov is out due to injury, but it has to be said the UFC did a good job filling those spots. From top to bottom, this is the type of card most UFC fans would have no problem shelling out 60 bucks for the pay-per-view.

Travis Browne vs. Andrei Arlovski
How old is Arlovski anyway? Look, I appreciate his career and he did look good in beating up Bigfoot Silva last fall, but how much is that win worth? Plus, his decision over Brendan Schaub was questionable at best. Browne could be well on his way to a title shot pretty soon. He has the size and stand-up game to keep Arlovski at bay and should be able to put Pit Bull away once the Russian starts breathing heavily.
Prediction: Brown by TKO, Round 2.
Donald Ceronne vs. John Makdessi
Ceronne vs. Nurmagomedov probably would have been a coin flip, but with Makdessi coming in to save the fight less than a month since he last fought, Cowboy is a big -470 favorite. Don’t rule out the Canadian kid though. He does have the wrestling skills to give Ceronne a handful if he can get the fight to the mat. That’s a big “if” though. Facing Cowboy without much time to prepare is a lot to ask of Makdessi.
Prediction: Ceronne by unanimous decision

Chris Weidman vs. Vitor Belfort
I’m not sure what Chris Weidman has to do to get a little respect. He’s 12-0 professionally with two wins over Anderson Silva and another over Lyoto Machida. He’s ranked third in UFC’s pound-for-pound rankings, yet you rarely hear him mentioned among the UFC’s biggest stars. This could be the fight that changes all that. While Belfort remains a dangerous striker, Weidman has the power and technique to take control of this fight early. Weidman’s a student of the game. He’ll find an opening here and end the fight.
Prediction: Weidman by knockout, Round 3.
Anthony Johnson vs. Daniel Cormier
You could easily make a case for either of these fighters to become the new light heavyweight champion of the world. Johnson has huge power and a better all-around game than he did years ago after figuring out his weight issues. Daniel Cormier’s resume is what forces me to give him the edge. He’s beaten Dan Henderson, Roy Nelson, Frank Mir, Josh Barnett and Big Foot, with his only loss coming in a five-round decision to Jon Jones. That loss will serve him well here. If Cormier can avoid the big right hand, he can win this.
Prediction: Cormier by TKO, Round 5.
