Carlos Condit UFC 264 Odds

We don’t usually see a former champion on a preliminary card, but Condit is one. The 37-year-old is 32-13 in his career and he was the final welterweight champion of the WEC before the UFC dissolved the title and division.

“The Natural Born Killer” has fought for titles three times in the UFC. He won the interim welterweight belt in February 2012 with a unanimous decision victory over Nick Diaz, but things have mostly gone downhill since and Condit isn’t even ranked in the division. He was beaten by Canadian legend Georges St-Pierre for the belt after facing Diaz and did knock St-Pierre down once but eventually lost by unanimous decision. Condit’s last title shot was against Robbie Lawler at UFC 195 and it ended via split decision loss, although most observers thought Condit won.

Condit lost four more fights in a row after the Lawler bout but does enter on a two-fight winning streak, beating both Court McGee and Matt Brown by unanimous decision. Overall, Condit has won 47 per cent of his fights by KO/TKO, 41 per cent by submission and 13 per cent by decision.

He has six losses by decision, six by submission and one by KO/TKO (vs. Tyron Woodley). Condit lands 3.63 significant strikes per minute with 39 per cent accuracy and absorbs 2.49. His takedown average is 0.62 per 15 minutes with 54 per cent accuracy and his takedown defence is 39 percent.

Max Griffin UFC 264 Odds

The 35-year-old Griffin is 17-8 and also unranked in the welterweight division. He has a black belt in Bok Fu, which is a blend of Kenpo, Tae-Kwon-Do and Kung Fu. Griffin bounced around a few organizations before making his UFC debut in August 2016 and lost via third-round TKO to Colby Covington.

“Pain” does enter on the first two-fight winning streak of his UFC career, beating Ramiz Brahimaj by third-round TKO and, in March, Kenan Song by first-round KO (punches). Griffin called out Condit personally after that fight and got his wish to battle one of the division’s most popular fighters.

Griffin has won 53 per cent of his bouts by KO/TKO, 35 per cent by decision and 12 per cent by submission. Seven of his eight losses are via the judges. He lands 4.14 significant strikes per minute with 48 per cent accuracy and absorbs 3.94. Griffin’s takedown average is 1.70 per 15 minutes with 51 per cent accuracy and his takedown defence is 66 percent.

While Griffin at 5-foot-11 is three inches shorter than Condit, he still has an inch of reach advantage. Both guys have orthodox stances.
