  • Brad Riddell +140

Brad Riddell UFC 276 Odds

There actually is no official lightweight champion at the moment in the UFC, and Riddell is ranked 14th. The 30-year-old from New Zealand, a former kickboxing champion in that country, is 10-2 in an MMA career that dates to 2013. Riddell is nicknamed “Quake” in homage to his home city of Christchurch, which was devastated by an earthquake in 2011.

The 5-foot-7 Riddell is 4-1 since joining the UFC in 2019 but comes off that loss via third-round KO (spinning wheel kick) against Rafael Fiziev in December. That was a highly entertaining back-and-forth bout. Riddell’s fights average 14:28. He lands 4.76 significant strikes per minute with 53 per cent accuracy and absorbs 3.55 per minute with 52 per cent defence. His takedown average is 1.87 per 15 minutes with 39 per cent accuracy, and his takedown defence is 62 per cent.

Five of Riddell’s wins are by KO/TKO and five by decision. His other loss was via submission to Abel Brites in July 2018 in the Hex Fight Series. Riddell winning by decision on Saturday is +225 with KO/TKO/DQ at +235 and by submission at +1400. The over-under is 2.5 rounds with the under a -140 favourite. That it goes the distance is +116 with no -168.

Jalin Turner UFC 276 Odds

The 27-year-old Turner, who fights out of California, is unranked in the lightweight division and is 12-5 in a pro career that dates to 2016. He is nicknamed “Tarantula” because growing up had arachnophobia but then started collecting tarantulas as pets to combat his fear and still does.

Turner is 5-2 in the UFC and has won four straight. He comes off a second-round TKO (punches) victory over Jamie Mullarkey in March. Nine of Turner’s wins are by KO/TKO and three by submission. He has three losses by KO/TKO and two by decision. For Saturday, Turner is +185 to win by KO/TKO/DQ, +250 by decision and +745 by submission.

The 6-foot-3 Turner is a southpaw and his fights average just 6:29. He lands 6.51 significant strikes per minute with 47 per cent accuracy and absorbs 4.34 per minutes with 44 per cent defence. His takedown average is 1.16 per 15 minutes with 80 per cent accuracy, and his takedown defence is 76 per cent.

Turner will have not just an eight-inch height advantage over Riddell but also a six-inch reach edge.
