Vladimir Guerrero Jr. injury

Guerrero had two impressive stretches on Monday, doing the splits twice at first to make snags from teammates. The second stretch came in the third off a long throw from Bo Bichette to end the inning.

Guerrero was seen motioning to his left leg in the dugout before going back out for the fourth inning and recording two more putouts. He was eventually replaced by Ty France in the batting order and at first base.

After the game, Blue Jays manager John Schneider described Guerrero as “doing alright” and said he would have an MRI to get a clearer look at things.

The 26-year-old finished 0-2 against Pirates ace Paul Skenes with an RBI. For the season, Guerrero is batting .298 with 21 home runs and 69 RBIs.

Guerrero’s status for Tuesday night’s game in Pittsburgh hasn’t been announced, but the MRI was described as precautionary.
