Milwaukee Brewers vs. Boston Red Sox: Odds, Prediction
Tonight, at 6:45 PM ET, Fenway Park treats baseball fans to an interleague clash between two teams off to polar opposite starts. The Milwaukee Brewers (8-2) are tied for the best record in baseball through 10 games, while the Boston Red Sox (2-8) own baseball’s worst record.
Last night, the Brewers opened this three-game set with an 8-6 win, coming back from 3-0 down and then again from down 5-4. Tonight is as good a night as any for the Red Sox to get back in the “W” column, as ace southpaw Garrett Crochet toes the rubber for the third time this year, duelling Brewers ace Jacob Misiorowski in a doozy of a starting pitching matchup.
The Red Sox opened as -150 favourites on the MLB odds board.
Betting Analysis
Temperatures are expected to sit in the low 40s around gametime. Cold weather didn’t keep the offences down last night, though. Six of the Red Sox’s 10 games and six of the Brewers’ 10 games have exceeded seven total runs scored. Three of the four combined Crochet and Misiorowski starts have also exceeded seven total runs.
The Brewers enter 8-2 against the spread and 7-3 to the over, while the Red Sox are 2-8 ATS and 6-4 to the over.
Milwaukee Brewers
You have to be clicking on all cylinders to get off to an 8-2 start, and the Brewers certainly are. Milwaukee has won both Misiorowski’s starts, 14-2 and 8-2, and he has logged 11 innings to the tune of a 2.45 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with 18 strikeouts.
Christian Yelich, the veteran leader and longest tenured Brewer, is off to a tremendous start at the plate (.395 AVG, 1.018 OPS). Garrett Mitchell has been a run-producing machine with a team-high 13 RBI. William Contreras and Brice Turang have been expectedly awesome in the top two spots in the batting order. Veteran catcher Gary Sanchez has been a nice surprise, clocking three home runs in five games played.
Aaron Ashby, Grant Anderson, Angel Zerpa and DL Hall have been terrific bearing the bulk in the middle of the bullpen, while Abner Uribe and Trevor Megill have been nails in the eighth and ninth innings.
This is all with superstar young outfielder Jackson Chourio on the shelf to begin the season. He is hoping to make his season debut on April 10.
Boston Red Sox
On the flip side, not much can be going right to get off to a 2-8 start.
At the plate, Wilson Contreras and Wilyer Abreu are the only two Sox hitters with an OPS north of .800. Abreu, in particular, has been awesome, smashing four doubles and three home runs, boasting a .400 AVG and a 1.190 OPS.
The entire pitching staff has already experienced adversity. Aroldis Chapman and Garrett Whitlock have mostly been great in the backend, but both do have blemishes on their mantle.
Crochet needs to will his team to victory tonight. All he did in his first year in Boston, in 2025, was finish second in AL Cy Young voting. Through two starts in 2026, he has logged 11 innings to the tune of a 3.27 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with 15 strikeouts.
Who Will Win Brewers vs. Red Sox?
This will be Misiorowski’s first start on the road in 2026, pitching in the cold elements. Last year, he pitched to a 5.44 ERA away from home. Conversely, this will be Crochet’s home debut in 2026. Crochet is coming off a rare stinker against the Astros, where he surrendered four runs in five innings. That won’t happen two starts in a row. Give me the Red Sox to cover -1.5 on the run line and win 4-1.
