Just eight months after COVID pushed the 146th running of the Kentucky Derby ahead, four months later than it’s usually run, the legendary horse race will return on it’s usual date this Saturday.
The crowd will be limited this year, with a maximum of 15,000 spectators in the infield and 45,000 in the reserve spots.

Essential Quality is coming into this race with lots of buzz around him to win the Triple Crown. He led the pack in the standings with 140 points and is a perfect 5-0. Essential’s maiden was broken at Churchill Downs.
