The Masters 2016 Odds and Betting Picks
The field is wide open at the first PGA Major of the 2016 season. Who’s your best bet to win the green jacket at Augusta this weekend?
The top of the PGA odds board is crowded as the 2016 edition of The Masters is set to tee off Thursday morning at Augusta National Golf Resort.
The clear favourite is the No. 1 player in the world, Jason Day, who has won six of his last 13 tournaments. The Masters odds currently have him at +517.
“There’s so many players that can win around here, and there’s not just one heavy favourite this week, which is fantastic,” Day told reporters. “I think it’s good for the game of golf and I think it’s good for this tournament, as well. I’m excited about the week. I’m excited about getting ready and preparing and getting the week underway.”

One of those players is fellow Aussie Adam Scott who at +1100 sits just behind Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth at +800. Bubba Watson is also at +1100 and Dustin Johnson checks in at +1200.

The Masters Picks and Prediction
It’s hard not to go with one of the Aussies given how they’re pushing each other right now, but bet on them coming up a little short this weekend. McIlroy’s chipping struggles are concerning as he goes for the career Grand Slam and you have to wonder if Bubba Watson is 100 percent fit as he looks to bag his third Masters title after battling a virus.
If you don’t side with Spieth, that might leave one of the more interesting golfers in the field as one of your best bets – Dustin Johnson. While he may be known by casual golf fans as Mr. Paulina Gretzky, Johnson has turned his game around after taking some time off to deal with alleged substance abuse issues.
Johnson grew up 73 miles from Augusta and he has placed among the top five in three of his last four tournaments. Maybe this is the weekend he gets over his heartbreaker at last year’s US Open.
“I try to take every situation, good or bad, and just try to learn from them and use the experience that I had,” Johnson told reporters. “You know, even like last year at the U.S. Open, to me, that gives me a lot of confidence. If I’m in that situation on Sunday, I know I can get it done. I know I can hit the shots that I need to hit and put myself in position.”
