2023 Mexico Open: PGA Golf Picks, Predictions, Tee Times, Groups
While the event was added to the PGA Tour for the first time a year ago, the Mexico Open is a long-established, first played back in 1944.
With this year’s edition of this event coming at the end of a busy April that has featured both the Masters and the RBC Heritage, the Mexico Open sports limited star power apart from Jon Rahm, who returns to Vidanta Vallarta as both defending champion, and a heavy +275 on the PGA Tour odds. However, ample opportunity exists for sports bettors to get in on golf betting action this weekend.
Mexico Open Betting Odds
Here’s a look at some of the best bets to consider this weekend at the Mexico Open.
Fade Finau
Apart from Rahm, the most recognizable name at this week’s tournament will be Tony Finau. Currently perched an No. 16 on the Official World Golf Ranking, Finau came within one stroke of Rahm while shooting a final round 63 at this event a year ago, and is pegged as a +800 second favourite to earn the win this weekend.
Finau has struggled to produce consistent results since his most recent victory at last fall’s Houston Open, with his 14th-place performance at the WM Phoenix Open marking his best finish in his past seven appearances. Paired with Camilo Villegas and Nicolas Echavarria, the 33-year-old is a solid -176 favourite to lead the way in first round three ball. However, better options are available in first round six shooter betting, with Byeong-Hun An offering the best value to lead the group featuring Finau, and pay out on +450 odds.
The South Korean opened the month with a season-best sixth-place finish at the Valero Golf Open, and is well positioned to take the next step among this weekend’s diminished field.

Wyndham Clark Poised for Breakthrough
Wyndham Clark has paid his due since joining the PGA Tour six years, but his yet to earn his first victory. Indeed, the 29-year-old struggled at times last season, missing the cut seven times in 30 appearances, which included a distant 67th-place finish at this event. However, things have started to come together for the talented American this spring.
Clark has posted top ten finishes in five of his past 11 PGA Tour appearances, including a run to fifth place at last month’s Valspar Championship and third-place at last weekend’s Zurich Classic. An attractive +1800 bet to claim his first PGA Tour win, Clark should not be overlooked as a +3300 to emerge as the first round leader after opening four of his past five tournament appearances with sub-70 rounds.
Beau Hossler Top Ten Finish
Beau Hossler teamed up with Wyndham Clark last weekend at the Zurich Classic, and claimed the 54-hole lead before settling for third place. That performance marked a turnaround for the 28-year-old American, who had endured a run of four straight missed cuts starting in mid-February.
While that marks his only top ten finish this season, Hossler has been steady, particularly on the green, where he ranks 16th when putting from inside 10 feet, and enjoys one of the Tour’s longest one-putt streaks of the season. That could be enough for him to return to the top ten, where he is worthy of a value wager to pay out on +452 odds.
