2020 Bermuda Championship: PGA Tour Golf Betting Odds
While most of us would do anything to fly to Bermuda just to play golf, there are essentially no stars in the field two weeks ahead of the Masters. With travel nowadays, one can understand. Plus, it’s a very small purse ($4 million US) and was to be an opposite-field tournament. Originally, this was also to be the weekend of the prestigious, big-money World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions from Shanghai, but COVID-19 cancelled the entire Asia Swing in 2020.
Because the HSBC Champions was called off, the Bermuda Championship was elevated to a full FedExCup points event and the field was expanded from 120 to 132. The winner, for example, will now get a spot in the 2021 Masters.
The Bermuda Championship is held at Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton Parish, a par 71 at around 6,830 yards. It hosted the defunct Grand Slam of Golf from 2009-14.
The defending champion is American Brendon Todd. He shot a final-round 9-under 62 to finish at 24-under 260 and four shots up on Harry Higgs. Todd’s worst round of the week was a 68. With birdies on his final two holes Sunday he would have shot 59.

Zalatoris is a former star collegiate golfer who has only played a handful of PGA Tour events, yet he’s the betting favourite. He didn’t play here last year. Zalatoris finished T5 last time out at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. He is just three FedExCup points away from earning special temporary membership on the PGA Tour.
Todd is +1400 to repeat. He’s not playing very well at the moment, finishing T47 and T52 the previous two weeks. Harold Varner III is +2500 with Doc Redman +2800. Varner makes his debut in this event, while Redman was 35th last year.
Canada’s David Hearn finished T8 last year at 15 under, not shooting worse than 68. He’s +9000 this week. Roger Sloan (+12500) was T41 at 7 under and Michael Gligic (+12500) T53 at 4 under. Mike Weir and Graham DeLaet (+25000) missed the cut.
Bermuda Championship Golf Predictions
The winner at +2500 is Denny McCarthy. He finished T13 last year and contended a few weeks ago with a T6 at the Sanderson Farms Championship.
