2023 Dutch Grand Prix: Grand Prix Predictions, Formula 1 Odds
With victories in each of the past eight races this season, as will as wins in the past two editions of this event, Max Verstappen returns to action as a massive -480 favourite on the Dutch Grand Prix odds. Verstappen’s torrid pace has also given him a 125-point cushion atop the F1 Drivers Standings. Accordingly, betting odds on the 25-year-old to claim a third straight F1 title are no longer available.
Verstappen’s Red Bull Racing teammate Sergio Perez sits a distant second as a +1000 wager to win the Dutch Grand Prix, followed by Lewis Hamilton at +1500 and Lando Norris at +1600.
Despite Verstappen’s dominance this season, and at this race, there are still betting options further down the board and on the F1 futures for racing fans to consider going into the weekend.
Dutch Grand Prix Race Time, Weather Forecast
Lights out at the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix is scheduled for 9:00am ET on Sunday morning at Circuit Zandvoort. There is a risk of rain and thunderstorms throughout the weekend, with the forecast for race time on Sunday calling for thunderstorms, with temperatures hovering in the mid-teens Celsius or low-60s Fahrenheit.
F1 Futures Without Verstappen
With Verstappen’s dominance taking much of the intrigue out of the F1 picks, now is a good time to take a closer look at how the Formula 1 futures are shaping us as the action returns to the track.
The current F1 futures focus on the F1 Drivers Championship odds without Verstappen. Sergio Perez is the only other driver to claim the checkered flag this season, has built a 40-point lead over third-place Fernando Alonso. Accordingly, the “Mexican Minister of Defence” is perched as massive -400 chalk to finish second to Verstappen.
Overall, Perez has reached the podium seven times this season including victories in Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan. However, he has also endured lengthy stretched of underwhelming results including failing to reach Q3 in qualifying in five straight outings prior to the summer break.
While Perez still enjoys the benefit of the fastest car on the track, the best value on the F1 championship odds can be found with Lewis Hamilton. The seven-time F1 champ returns to the track lagging behind Perez as a +275 bet to claim second place, but has steadily gained momentum as the season has progressed. The popular Englishman has recorded top four finishes in six of his past seven races including a trio of podium finishes, and should be expected to continue to chip away at Perez’ edge in the standings.
Fast Start for Hamilton in Netherlands
In addition to being a solid value pick on the odds to win the F1 championship without Verstappen, Hamilton also offers good value on the Dutch Grand Prix odds. The 38-year-old has finished top four at each of the past two editions of this race, both in qualifying and on race day, and is a solid +120 bet to reach the podium again.
Given the consistent performance of Hamilton’s Mercedes teammate George Russell, who has finished top six in three straight races and was early threat to win this race before settling for second a year ago, the Silver Arrows should be on every ticket as a +110 bet to start the second half of the season with a double top six performance.
Predictions:
Lewis Hamilton F1 championship odds without Verstappen (+275)
Hamilton podium finish (+120)
Mercedes double top six (+110)
