The last remaining undefeated teams in the CFL clash in Week 6 action on Friday night as the Winnipeg Blue Bombers play host to the Calgary Stampeders.  Winnipeg sits atop the West Division with a perfect 5-0 record following last week’s 43-22 road victory against the Lions.  Calgary is second in the West with a 4-0 record, including a 49-6 blow out victory in Edmonton last week.

The Blue Bombers are 3.5-point favourites to win on the CFL odds, with a total of 47.5.

CFL Odds and Betting

Both meetings between these teams last season were low scoring affairs that ended in victories for the home side.  Winnipeg won 18-16 in Week 4, while the Stamps came out on top 13-12 in Week 16.

Calgary enters Week 6 with six wins in their last seven road games dating back to last season.  They’re 6-1 against the spread in their last seven road dates, including 2-0 this year.  The Stampeders have hit the Over in all four games this season.

The Bombers remain undefeated with two wins at home and three wins on the road.  They’re 3-2 ATS this season, but they’ve only managed to cover in three of their last 11 games against Calgary.  The total has gone Under in nine of Winnipeg’s last 11 home games, including both home games this year.

Calgary Stampeders

Running back Peyton Logan made some noise for Calgary last week, scoring two touchdowns, including one on a 122-yard missed field goal attempt.  A strong running game was key for the Stamps as Ka’Deem Carey added a game-high 104 rushing yards on 12 carries.  Quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell completed 17 of 22 passes for 279 yards and two touchdowns.  Malik Henry caught one of Levi’s touchdown passes and finished with 150 receiving yards.  Luther Hakunavanhu caught the second touchdown pass.

Calgary’s defence even got in on the scoring action as linebacker Cameron Judge returned a fumble 63 yards for a touchdown.  Former all-star cornerback Tre Roberson finished with four tackles and an interception after missing the Stampeders’ previous game with a shoulder injury.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers

The two-time defending Grey Cup champions found their offensive flair last week, racking up 429 yards against a B.C. defence that had been averaging just 244 yards allowed per game.  Quarterback Zach Collaros, the CFL’s reigning Most Outstanding Player, completed 23 of 30 pass attempts for 288 yards and three touchdowns.  Dalton Schoen finished with 117 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Greg Ellingson picked up 98 receiving yards and one touchdown.  Dru Brown added a rushing touchdown.

Janarion Grant ran back the game’s opening kickoff for a touchdown and finished with 112 yards on two returns.  It was pure dominance from the start as Winnipeg outscored the Lions 21-0 in the first quarter and took a 27-14 lead into halftime.  The Bombers also generated four takeaways on defence.
