Roughriders vs. Lions Prediction: CFL Week 17 Point Spread, Odds
The second game of the CFL Week 17 doubleheader on Friday night is an important one in the West Division as the Saskatchewan Roughriders visit the B.C. Lions, who are 3.5-point favourites on the CFL odds with a total of 62.5 that is the highest of the week.
CFL Odds and Betting
Edmonton (10-4) enters Week 17 leading the CFL’s West Division at 10-4 but has a game in hand over second-place Saskatchewan (8-5) and third-place B.C. (7-6), so the race isn’t over yet. Then again, the Lions are only 1.5 games up on last-place Calgary so missing the playoffs entirely is also possible. To win the Grey Cup, the Roughriders and Lions are both +500, behind only Montreal (+190) and Edmonton (+430).
This concludes the regular-season series with them having split two, each winning at home. The most recent meeting was Aug. 23 at BC Place and the Lions won, 30-16. Nathan Rourke went 22 of 28 for 355 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Defensive end Lorenzo Mauldin sacked Riders quarterback Trevor Harris twice. Saskatchewan turned the ball over four times and committed seven penalties for 72 yards, including two that took potential touchdowns off the board. Harris completed 28 of 42 passes for 356 yards, one touchdown and two picks.
Saskatchewan Roughriders
Saskatchewan comes off its bye week, which was probably needed after the team managed only six points in Week 15 in a double-digit loss at Winnipeg. The defence played fantastic, but Saskatchewan finished with 278 yards of net offence and was 4-for-22 on second down.
QB Trevor Harris was quite inaccurate at 24-for-45 for 231 yards with a pick. The Riders chose to bench struggling kicker Alex Hale, and Dawson Hodge took advantage of his chance by making both field goals.
Backup QB Tommy Stevens has 15 rushing scores, one shy of the CFL lead and one shy of the single-season Roughriders record held by George Reed in 1968. Stevens has already broken the Roughriders’ record for TDs by a quarterback in a season. Saskatchewan has a 5-1 record this season when Stevens scores.
The Riders are 5-1-1 ATS in their past seven following a loss.
BC Lions
The Lions also come off a bye week, which perhaps wasn’t needed after the team stomped Grey Cup favourite Montreal 48-29 in Week 15. Tailback Zander Horvath had three touchdowns and leads the league with 16 rushing scores.
Nathan Rourke threw for 317 yards with one touchdown – his sixth straight game with at least one passing TD — and rushed for a score. B.C. leads the CFL in offence per game (427.7) and rushing yards per (121.3).
Defensive back Josh Hagerty was suspended two games for punching Montreal Alouettes running back Liam Talbot during the game. Hagerty has played 13 regular-season games with B.C. this year and made two starts, tallying 11 defensive tackles and nine special teams tackles.
Perhaps because of that, the team has re-signed defensive back Robert Carter Jr. He spent 2026 NFL training camp and the preseason with the Indianapolis Colts. Carter appeared in 18 regular-season games with B.C. last year, totaling 51 tackles and a team-high five interceptions, returning one for a touchdown.
