Elks vs. Tiger-Cats Prediction: CFL Week 11 Point Spread, Odds
Whether the Edmonton Elks can save their season remains to be seen, but a third successive victory would bolster their odds of playing meaningful football in November. As for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, despite sporting an identical 2-7 record, they’re not feeling so good about themselves after back-to-back defeats at the hands of the Alouettes.
Our CFL odds believe the Elks will continue their winning ways, pinning them as -2.5 favourites.

Saturday is an opportunity for payback for Edmonton. It was only three ago that the Tiger-Cats stormed into Edmonton and demolished the Elks 44-28. Incidentally, that match encouraged head coach Jarious Jackson to replace QB McLeod Bethel Thompson with Tre Ford. Unfortunately for the Elks, Ford went down with an injury in Week 10 and his status is unknown at the time of writing.
Hamilton’s win earlier this season was its eighth in 10 meetings with the Elks since 2018. That’s rather thorough domination. However, it’s important to note that those two Edmonton wins (2023 and 2022) were on the road.
Betters continue to have faith in the Elks. Their record against the spread is a decent 5-4. The last two outright wins translated to two consecutive covers as well. What’s more, for a team that’s only 2-7 in the standings, they can light it up on the scoreboard. The Elks are third in the CFL with 27.7 points per game. The problem is the defence, as they give up 29.2 points per match, second-last to…
The Ticats, who cough up a gobsmacking 31.9 points per contest. If there was ever a game to take the over, this one looks about right. Unlike the Elks, the Tiger-Cats cannot boast a sensible ATS tally as they have fallen to a dismal 2-7, mirroring their efforts in the standings. Speaking of quarterback substitutions, barring injury at practice this week, Taylor Powell will lead the offence this week in place of Bo Levi Mitchell. The latter was benched in the loss to the Als.
Edmonton Elks
After subduing the Roughriders on the road the week before, the Elks were hoping to give the home fans a reason to cheer when they hosted a beleaguered BC Lions outfit in Week 10.
Even though it was against a backup QB in Jake Dolegala, Edmonton’s defence ruled the day. It limited the visitors to only 292 total yards of offence and 15 first downs. The Elks also dominated the time of possession battle (35:39 to 24:21), a credit to the attack. Better still, it didn’t cave once Ford suffered an injury. Bethel-Thompson steered the ship well enough with a 14-for-18, 171-yard, one-TD day. Ball carriers Javon Leake and Justin Rankin had solid days, springing for 97 and 77 yards, respectively – and a score for Leake.
It was a successful day for the Elks despite the worry about Ford. Make the final 33-16 for Edmonton.
Hamilton Tiger-Cats
The 2024 Ticats are turning into one of those infamous sides that, even with a half-decent performance, commits too many blunders to save face. They didn’t even play that badly in Montreal last week but couldn’t get out of their own way.

They outgained Montreal 439 to 398, had more first downs (24 to 18) and were brilliantly efficient on third down, going 4-for-4. On the flip side, they committed 11 penalties to Montreal’s five, and coughed up the ball a trio of times, recovering only once. Nevertheless, there is some solace in the fact that Powell went 30-for-38 for 319 yards and two TDs. WR Shemar Bridges was a favourite target, corralling eight passes for 103 yards. Like the week before against the Als, Hamilton scored late to make the final respectable as Steven Dunbar Jr. caught his second TD of the season.
Despite their efforts, the Tiger-Cats fell 33-23.
