Blue Bombers vs. Elks Prediction: CFL Week 19 Point Spread, Odds
The second game of the CFL Week 19 doubleheader Saturday on Thanksgiving Weekend is crucial from the West Division in terms of playoff positioning as Winnipeg visits Edmonton with both off bye weeks.
The Blue Bombers are -3.5 on the CFL odds with a total of 53.5 points.
CFL Odds and Betting
There are just three weeks left in the 2025 CFL regular season, so it’s all about playoff positioning for those teams already qualified or simply getting in as in Edmonton’s case. Sitting last in the West Division at 6-9, the team has a major uphill climb for post-season football.
Via the CFL’s official simulations entering Thanksgiving Weekend, Edmonton is given just a 12.9 per cent shot at making it, which would equal a moneyline price of +675. It closes at B.C. and home to Calgary, so we don’t see it happening.
Calgary and Winnipeg are tied for third in the West at 8-7 – the top two teams, B.C. and Saskatchewan have clinched playoff spots, but the Stamps currently hold the tiebreaker. But per the CFL simulations, the Blue Bombers have a 99.1 per cent shot at the playoffs. With the East Division’s Toronto having been officially eliminated from playoff contention, we’ll see a West Division crossover for the first time since 2019. Meaning that all five West teams have something to play for still.
This has been the CFL’s most lopsided rivalry in recent years with Winnipeg winning 13 straight, including 36-23 at home back on June 26. It was tied 23-all entering the fourth. Zach Collaros finished 25-of-30 for 334 yards with three touchdowns.
Winnipeg is 4-1 ATS in the past five meetings and the over is 4-1 in those.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Winnipeg comes out of its bye on a two-game winning streak (also 2-0 ATS) and played arguably its best game of the season in Week 17 in blowing out visiting Hamilton 40-3. In his return from a two-game injury absence, Zach Collaros finished 20-of-25 for 367 yards – his sixth highest passing total as a Blue Bomber — and a TD.
Backup Chris Streveler was still a part of the game plan as a runner as he rushed seven times for 26 yards and three scores. The Blue Bombers rushed for 124 yards and finished with 514 yards net offence, their most of the year.
In addition, Trey Vaval continued his CFL Most Outstanding Rookie push and Most Outstanding Special Teams Player push with a 98-yard return of the opening kickoff for a touchdown that was his fourth return score this season — one off the club record of five, set by Keith Stokes in 2004. The CFL record is six by Hamilton’s Chris Williams in 2012. Vaval leads the CFL in punt return yardage with 831 and in missed field goal return yardage at 271, and is fourth with 805 kickoff return yards.
Turnovers are always important in any football game. Winnipeg was +1 vs. Hamilton. In their eight wins, the Blue Bombers have +11 turnover differential and in the seven losses, that number is -19. Winnipeg is 2-5 SU in its past seven away.
Edmonton Elks
It’s a do-or-die in terms of Edmonton’s playoff chances this week if Calgary wins earlier in the day at Hamilton. The Elks did upset the Roughriders in Week 17 by a score of 27-25 to snap a two-game losing streak and improve to 4-0 ATS in their past four. Edmonton stopped a Saskatchewan two-point conversion try on the game’s final play.
Cody Fajardo completed 18 of 23 passes for 305 yards to lead the Elks to a third straight win at home. He hasn’t thrown a pick since Week 12.
Justin Rankin had 14 carries for 92 yards and two scores. This week, the team signed Rankin to a two-year contract extension through 2027. The 28-year-old leads the CFL in big plays (rushes of at least 20 yards and receptions of at least 30) with 15, and his 12 offensive touchdowns are second in the league behind Hamilton’s Kenny Lawler. Rankin is among the CFL leaders in yards from scrimmage with 1,471 (838 rushing, 633 receiving). Edmonton is 9-1 ATS in its past 10 games.
