The Argonauts halted a two-game slide with a 30-24 win over the Riders in last Saturday’s clash at Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, but have yet to tally consecutive wins so far this season. The Riders’ loss snapped a two-game surge, but the squad remains undefeated in five home games since October 2021.

Saskatchewan is a 3-point favourite to win on the CFL odds, with a total of 46.5.

CFL Odds and Betting

Saturday night’s matchup at Mosaic Stadium marks the second and final regular season meetings between these two teams. With last week’s victory, the Argos snapped a five-game straight up losing streak versus the Roughriders, but they still face the challenge of earning their first win in Saskatchewan since August 2015. Overall, the Roughriders have taken eight of 10 from Toronto, and have dominated during a 4-0-0 head-to-head run on home turf, which has featured a trio of victories by double-digit margins.

After paying out in last week’s contest, the OVER now enjoys a 3-0-0 run in totals betting, ending a 5-2-1 run for the UNDER.

Weather is not expected to be a factor in Saturday’s contest, with mostly sunny skies and temperatures hovering around 20 degrees Celsius forecast for game time.

Toronto Argonauts

A pick-six late in the fourth quarter proved to be the difference as the Argonauts drew first blood in a hard-fought contest to kick off this home-and-home series. Toronto led for most of the contest before allowing the Riders to seize a narrow three-point lead in the final frame. However, Wynton McManis settled things, returning an intercepted pass attempt by Cody Fajardo 50 years for the game-winning score.

Nail biters have been common when the Argonauts play this season. A missed extra point denied the Argos a successful comeback in a 23-22 loss to Winnipeg three weeks ago, which marked the third time this season that they have seen a game settled by a single point. McLeod Bethel-Thompson turned in a steady performance under centre, completing 26 passes for 276 yards and two scores. However, the Toronto ground game was once again a non-factor, with Andrew Harris compiling just 39 yards and once again failing to find the end zone.

Saskatchewan Roughriders

A sloppy performance by Fajardo proved to be the Riders’ undoing last weekend. The Riders quarterback tossed a season-high three interceptions, two of which the Argonauts converted into touchdowns. Overall, Fajardo has now thrown five picks on the season, third most among CFL pivots. Those picks are costly as the Riders are winless when he tosses at least one interception.

On a more positive note, D’haquille Williams has continued to produce. The Saskatchewan receiver pulled in five of seven passes thrown his way last weekend, racking up 84 yards and one score. Overall, Williams has caught three touchdown passes over the past four games, and has topped 76 receiving yards on three occasions over that stretch.
