Argonauts vs. RedBlacks Prediction: CFL Week 3 Point Spread, Odds
The third week of the CFL regular season brings the first four-game slate overall and first Saturday triple-header. The first of those three Saturday features Toronto visiting Montreal with a 1 p.m. ET kick and the Argos as 1.5-point favourites with a total of 55.5 points on the CFL odds.
CFL Odds and Betting
No doubt that Toronto is at a disadvantage for this one as it plays a second straight road game, while Ottawa is off a Week 2 bye. Saturday is the first of three regular-season meetings between the rivals with the Argos back at TD Place Stadium in Week 20, and the Redblacks visiting BMO Field in Week 15.
Last season, they met twice and split with each prevailing on the road. The first meeting was in Ottawa and the Argos rolled, 29-16, for a third straight win overall in the series. Derek Slywka dominated defensively with two touchdowns, one off a fumble recovery and another on a blocked field goal return. Toronto QB Nick Arbuckle threw for 269 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Ottawa QB Dustin Crum had a rushing TD but took five sacks.
The Redblacks then took the second matchup in a wild 46-42 affair in Toronto despite trailing 22-1 at the end of the first quarter. Dru Brown, who missed the first 2025 meeting vs. the Argos, had a career-high five touchdown passes and threw for 373 yards.
Toronto is 8-2 ATS in the past 10 meetings overall, and the total has landed over in eight of those.
Toronto Argonauts
Toronto was off Week 1 and then a 6.5-point underdog last Friday in Montreal and lost 37-30. QB Chad Kelly played for the first time since suffering a severe leg injury in the East final on Nov. 9, 2024, in Montreal. Kelly looked in form completing 28-of-46 passing for 445 yards with three touchdowns and one interception.
In his first-ever CFL game, rookie Tyler Kahmann had six catches for 106 yards and a touchdown. Kevin Mital had seven receptions for 109 yards and one touchdown for Toronto in head coach Mike Miller’s first game in charge. Former head coach Ryan Dinwiddie is now the HC and general manager with the Redblacks.
Argos wideout Jake Herslow and defensive lineman DeWayne Hendrix missed the opener injured. Herslow, who had 59 catches for 756 yards and nine TDs in 2025, is set to play this week while Hendrix has gotten in limited practice time. Toronto is 1-7 SU in its past eight away.
Ottawa RedBlacks
Ottawa was -1.5 for Week 1 against Edmonton but lost, 29-21 in the rain. Jake Maier, who earned the starting quarterback job for Ottawa in training camp, completed 22-of-37 passes for 203 yards and a TD pass to Justin Hardy.
The Redblacks played without top running back Greg Bell. The team’s big off-season signing was sidelined with a neck injury but is expected to play Saturday. Bell was a CFL East All-Star for Hamilton in 2025, posting career highs in carries (184), rushing yards (1,038), receptions (62) and receiving yards (426).
Elijah Collins got the Week 1 start but suffered a quad injury and was placed on the six-game injured list. Perhaps look for a bigger game for Maier as Toronto allowed 441 yards passing to Montreal’s Davis Alexander in Week 2, with 175 of those yards coming after the catch. The Redblacks will debut new white uniforms for this game. They are 1-5 ATS in their past six at home.
