2026 CFL Odds and Week 12 Power Rankings: Will the Ottawa RedBlacks ever win again?
The chains are moving in the 2026 CFL season.
A bye week didn’t do anything to touch Montreal’s spot at the top of the CFL power rankings, while the winless RedBlacks remain firmly at the bottom.
Meanwhile, Hamilton is the biggest mover up the power rankings heading into Week 12, while the Argonauts have fallen the most.
Let’s get back into it with our Week 12 power rankings.

(Last week’s ranking listed in brackets)
1. Montreal Alouettes (1)
Record: 8-1
Week 11 result: Bye
Week 12 opponent: vs. OTT
The Alouettes had a well-deserved rest last week and nothing has changed in their status as the top dogs of the CFL. Montreal boasts the favourites for Most Outstanding Player, Most Outstanding Canadian and Coach of the Year among other possible accolades. Good luck to the winless RedBlacks (they’ll need it), who are headed to La Belle Province this week.
2. Edmonton Elks (3)
Record: 7-3
Week 11 result: W 42-12 vs. TOR
Week 12 opponent: vs. WPG
Edmonton bounced back from back-to-back losses with a blowout win over the Argos last week. The Elks had six turnovers on defence and special teams, including five in the second half. That allowed the offence to score 29 unanswered points to close out the game, led by Cody Fajardo (301 passing yards, one passing TD, 50 rushing yards) and Justin Rankin (61 receiving yards, 47 rushing yards, one rushing TD).
3. Saskatchewan Roughriders (2)
Record: 6-3
Week 11 result: L 26-19 @ HAM
Week 12 opponent: @ BC
The Roughriders were surprise losers in Hamilton in Week 11. Quarterback Trevor Harris was uncharacteristically sloppy with just 207 passing yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. I’m willing to give Saskatchewan the benefit of the doubt in a one-off loss, but I’ll be more concerned if they don’t bounce back in B.C.
4. B.C. Lions (6)
Record: 4-5
Week 11 result: W 30-26 @ CGY
Week 12 opponent: vs. SSK
It wasn’t all clean execution from the Lions last week, but they did enough to secure a crucial road win in Calgary. Nathan Rourke continues to look good in his return from injury after finishing with 301 passing yards and two TDs against the Stamps. Rourke spread the ball around well, with his top targets including Jermaine Jackson (89 receiving yards), Justin McInnis (86 receiving yards) and Keon Hatcher Sr. (83 receiving yards, two TDs).
5. Hamilton Tiger-Cats (8)
Record: 4-6
Week 11 result: W 26-19 vs. SSK
Week 12 opponent: @ TOR
Hamilton is he biggest mover up the power rankings following an impressive win over the defending Grey Cup champs. With Bo Levi Mitchell out, the Tabbies are basically playing hot-potato with their starting quarterback situation. Harrison Frost started last week before an injury led to Tre Ford taking over in the second half. Ford, who was benched for Frost two weeks ago, played the hero with an impressive game-winning TD throw to Keric Wheatfall. However, the Week 12 starter is anyone’s guess.
6. Winnipeg Blue Bombers (7)
Record: 5-4
Week 11 result: W 33-21 vs. OTT
Week 12 opponent: @ EDM
Winnipeg finally got back in the win column at home and all it took was facing a historically bad Ottawa team. Zach Collaros was once again banged up with a hard hit, but toughed it out with 222 passing yards. The Bombers really benefitted from leaning into Brady Oliveira. The Canadian had 80 yards in the air and added another 74 and a score on the ground.
7. Calgary Stampeders (5)
Record: 4-6
Week 11 result: L 30-26 vs. BC
Week 12 opponent: Bye
After a strong start to the year, the Stampeders are quickly coming back to Earth, so this week’s bye happens at a great time. The extra rest is especially beneficial to star quarterback Vernon Adams Jr., who left last week’s loss after suffering a head injury. Top running back Dedrick Mills also had to leave the game with a concussion, leaving Calgary with a couple significant injury questions on offence.
8. Toronto Argonauts (4)
Record: 4-5
Week 11 result: L 42-12 @ EDM
Week 12 opponent: vs. HAM
No team fell further last week than Toronto after they were smacked around in Edmonton following a bye. You can point to the turnover battle, which the Argonauts lost 6-1, as the main reason for the 30-point loss. Surprisingly, however, only one of those turnovers came from Chad Kelly, who leads the CFL with 14 interceptions.
9. Ottawa RedBlacks (9)
Record: 0-9
Week 11 result: L 33-21 @ WPG
Week 12 opponent: @ MTL
Player cuts. Player signings. Coaching and management firings. Nothing has worked to help the winless RedBlacks turn this season around. Dating back to last season, Ottawa has now lost 15 straight games, which is the longest losing streak in the CFL since the league was incorporated in 1958. There’s not much more to say other than this team is really bad.
