2025 CFL Odds: Davis Alexander practicing, expected to start in Sunday’s Grey Cup
Montreal Alouettes quarterback Davis Alexander was a full participant at Wednesday’s practice after he announced on Monday that he would be ready to start the Grey Cup against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Saskatchewan is a 3.5-point favourite to win the Grey Cup on the CFL odds, with the total pegged at 49.0.

There has been concern for Alexander’s health after he tweaked his hamstring in the fourth quarter of Montreal’s 19-16 win over Hamilton in the East Division Final last week.
The 27-year-old was reportedly dropping back, throwing and jogging at Wednesday’s practice. It’s a positive sign after it was reported on Tuesday that Alexander would likely need four to five rehab treatments a day to get to a level where he would be comfortable on Sunday.
Alexander was on the bike to keep his hamstring warm between practice sessions, which is expected to be the plan on Sunday during the Grey Cup.
The Washington state native has been on the injured list twice this season, but when healthy, he’s been dominant. In seven starts during the regular season, Alexander threw for 2,024 yards and 10 touchdowns with just three interceptions.
The Alouettes went 7-0 with Alexander this year, but 3-8 when he didn’t start. His 13-0 career mark is the best start in CFL history.
Alexander is 2-0 in his playoff career, throwing for 594 yards with two TDs and two interceptions.
