Chelsea vs. Tottenham EPL Odds and Betting Trends
The Blues take on Spurs for the 182nd time in football history, with Chelsea holding a brighter candle, showcasing 83 total wins to Tottenham’s 55, along with 43 draws.
Tottenham have been in the gutter for this fixture for the last six straight since February 2023, having been outscored 14-5 in those defeats, although the last four straight confrontations have ended with a one-goal margin of victory for Chelsea.
With home advantage, the Blues are considerable -165 favourites, with Spurs at +350 odds to win and a tie priced at +310.
The under 3.5 goals comes in at -162, with the over marked at +132.
Chelsea Betting Tips
Chelsea are on course for a return to the Champions League this season, with Xabi Alonso’s side having registered four wins in their opening seven games to hold fourth place, boasting the third-highest goal tally in the league (17).
The Blues have lost twice and will be disappointed with the 3-0 defeat at Brentford, but the other defeat was also on the road at champions Arsenal, and they can take confidence being the only side to have defeated Brighton, who of course thumped the Gunners 3-0.
Alonso’s team are on a two-game winning streak after most recently securing a 2-0 victory over Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium with Pedro Neto striking gold with a brace.
Just three of Chelsea’s players, Joao Pedro, Pedro Neto and Morgan Rogers, account for 12 of the side’s 17 goals. Joao Pedro nearly leads the scoring charts as he sits with five in just six games.
Joao Pedro is the match’s most likely anytime goalscorer spot at +105. Danny Welbeck follows his Brazilian teammate at odds of +125, despite none of his three goals scored so far this season coming in the EPL.
Tottenham Betting Tips
While Tottenham made a slow start to the campaign, they do have some momentum having secured four of their six points in the last two games to climb to 16th, registering their first league win of the season last time out over Coventry on home turf, and now hold a 1-3-3 record.
Their result against the Sky Blues on Monday was not just a victory, but a relatively comfortable one, as James Maddison, Omar Marmoush and Ben Davies all tallied the score sheet to help the Spurs rally to a 3-1 win.
This marked the Spurs’ second win in all competitions so far this season, and the first domestic league game with at least three goals scored. It’s finally looking up for Robert De Zerbi’s side, although they now run into another goal-heavy opponent, which will be a true test of the team’s resilience moving forward.
Forward Dominic Solanke takes the top anytime goalscoring spot for his team at +280 after bagging one goal in the EFL Cup and one in the Premier League so far.
After opening his Tottenham account most recently in his seventh appearance for the club, Omar Marmoush is priced at +330 to boiler up and score on Saturday.
EPL Prediction: Who Will Win Chelsea vs. Tottenham?
Chelsea’s only real vulnerability comes from their occasional defensive failings, with only five clubs having allowed more than their 13 goals conceded, although their goalscoring strength has countered such issues in most circumstances.
Another thing to consider is the Stamford Bridge advantage, as the Blues have not suffered a loss at home this season, while Spurs have not yet won on the road.
Tottenham are also lacking goalscorers and that looks set to be a problem, given how freely Chelsea have been finding the back of the net.
Spurs have not travelled well in this rivalry either, winning just one of their last 41 games at Stamford Bridge – in 2018 – and losing 27, while a solitary victory in the last 15 EPL games home or away does not bode well for their latest trip.
Chelsea have bounced back from their Brentford setback with a 7-1 aggregate score in their last two successes so they can chalk up another with a -1.5 spread (+156), in a potential 3-0 shutout victory.
