Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk 2: Boxing Odds, Prediction

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk last squared off in the same building back on May 18, when Usyk claimed a narrow split decision in his second defence of the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO, and The Ring heavyweight titles while also claiming the WBC crown. Usyk is now undefeated in 22 pro fights including 14 wins by knockout while last spring’s defeat dips Fury’s pro record to 35-1-1.

After defeating Fury as a narrow betting underdog seven months ago, Usyk makes his first ring appearance as undisputed heavyweight champion perched as a -125 favourite on the Fury vs Usyk odds. Fury trails as a +110 underdog and the odds of this fight going a full 12 rounds are pegged at -140.

Tyson Fury Boxing Odds

Kingdom Arena is quickly becoming a second home for Tyson Fury, who also contested his past two fights at the recently constructed stadium. “The Gypsy King” faced former UFC champion Francis Ngannou in this same building in October 2023 and was lucky to eke out a split decision win over the former UFC champion, who made his pro boxing debut in this 10-round matchup. Fury’s struggles to get past Ngannou, who recorded his first career knockdown in that clash, raised valid concerns that the 35-year-old has lost a step. Those concerns were heightened further as Fury steadily faded in his date with Usyk, with the Englishman suffering his third knockdown in four fights before getting saved by the bell on a standing eight count at the end of the ninth round.

However, it is tough to overlook Fury’s impressive resume. He has finished opponents on 24 occasions while compiling a 34-1–1 record. The Gypsy King has flashed some of the devastating power that marked his rise in the heavyweight division, with three of his past seven victories coming inside seven rounds but is a lengthy +700 bet to finish Usyk in the first six rounds on Saturday night.

Oleksandr Usyk Boxing Odds

Undefeated in 22 career pro fights, Usyk became the first fighter since Lennox Lewis to unify the heavyweight championship with his victory over Fury earlier this year and looks to become the first to successfully defend the undisputed title since Evander Holyfield did so over 32 years ago. But rising to the occasion as champion is nothing hew for “The Cat”.

Usyk first claimed the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles by unanimous decision in an epic brawl with Anthony Joshua in September 2021, and followed up 11 months later with a controversial split decision win. Marathon battles are nothing new for Usyk, who has seen all eight of his wins by decision come in his past 13 fights, and is a lucrative +200 bet to earn the judges’ decision on Saturday night.

Boxing Prediction: Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk 2

Fight fans should be prepared to get settled in for what promises to be a marathon matchup on Saturday night. Both these fighters have proven their ability to absorb a lot of punishment. The big question is whether Fury’s recent late-round struggles against both Ngannou and Usyk are an aberration or a sign of this former champion’s decline.

Predictions: Fury to be knocked down (+138); Usyk by KO, TKO, or DQ (+275)
