Bet Odds For Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao Rematch

After the biggest PPV fight ever, Mayweather says he’ll give Pacquiao a rematch. What would the odds look like? Glad you asked.

Not long after Floyd Mayweather, Jr. defeated Manny Pacquiao on May 2, reports surfaced that Pacquiao had been nursing a shoulder injury. Many believe Pacquiao was simply using an injury as an excuse for losing, but even more believe it’s an attempt to get the two back in the ring together in hopes of another $500 million payday.

The chances of a Mayweather/Pacquiao rematch are becoming more and more a matter of “when” instead of “if.” According to Darren Rovell, Mayweather texted Steven A. Smith of ESPN saying he’d be open to a rematch with Pacquiao once the challenger’s shoulder heals. Pacquiao reportedly fought with torn cuff and will be out 9-to-12 months after surgery.

So what would the closing odds be if this fight does happen? Right now, it looks as though Floyd Mayweather would be listed around a -400 to -500 favorite, risking $250 to earn $100.

Mayweather Pacquiao II odds

This goes against Mayweather’s wish to retire in September upon the conclusion of his contract with HBO and Showtime, but there’s just too much money up for grabs to let this opportunity pass. Another factor that could be tantalizing for Mayweather is the chance to finish his career at 50-0, which would surpass the 49-0 mark set by Rocky Marciano.

Like many professional athletes who find themselves trying to call it quits, its clear Mayweather will have trouble walking away from the sport that has given him everything. The likelihood that Mayweather is done for good should and will be taken with a grain of salt. If both sides believe a rematch could be just as lucrative, we might just get the second biggest “fight of the century.”
