Tampa Bay Lightning
After a blistering stretch of games between January 29 and February 17, where the Lightning won 11 games in a row, the team has cooled down substantially. The Bolts are coming off a 4-2 win over the Flames on Saturday and that victory stopped a season-high four game losing streak. Tampa got two power-play goals and a short-handed tally in the win.
The celebration was muted with the news of All-Star Steven Stamkos. For the fourth time in seven seasons, an injury to Stamkos will have an effect on the Lightning’s postseason aspirations. He’s expected to miss the next eight weeks after core muscle injury.
Of note, Alex Killorn has 24 goals on the season which ties his career high he set back in the 2017-18 season.
