Who Can Silence the Vuvuzelas at the World Cup?

Montreal, June 14, 2010. They’re loud, they’re horny and they’re at the World Cup. The vuvuzela horns, the traditional African instruments that are blown at a deafening monotone at soccer matches in South Africa, have become the most talked about thing at the World Cup and one sportsbook is offering odds on what will happen to them.

Sports Interaction, the first online sportsbook licensed and regulated in North America, has posted odds on what will happen to the horns of which everybody’s had just about plenty.

“You can’t ignore the vuvuzelas,” says Frank Doyle, a spokesman for Sports Interaction, “so we thought we’d join them.”
