San Antonio Spurs vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Game 7 Prediction, NBA Odds
Victor Wembanyama had 28 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks, Dylan Harper had 18 points off the bench, and Stephon Castle added 17 points, 9 assists, and 5 rebounds as the Spurs pounded the Thunder at home for the second straight time in Game 6, 118-91. This was also the second consecutive game in San Antonio in which the Thunder were held under 100 points, the only two such games this postseason.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was held to just 15 points on 6-of-18 shooting. He went 0-for-5 from long range as well. This was one of his worst offensive performances in the past few years, let alone the series. However, the last time OKC was beaten down on the road, it came right back home and returned the favour in Game 5. Can they do it again and get back to the Finals, or will the Spurs advance to the Finals for the first time in 12 years?
Spurs vs. Thunder NBA Betting Odds
Despite Thursday night’s abysmal performance, Oklahoma City is a 3.5-point favourite at home tonight, with a -160 price on the money line. San Antonio is at +135. The Spurs have won seven of 11 against OKC this season, including multiple road games. They took the series opener here in overtime, but lost by 13 on Tuesday. The Thunder are 6-1 at home in the playoffs and have won 18 of 20 here going back to the regular season.
The Over/Under tonight sits at 212.5 points. That’s a full three points lower than the next lowest total listing for any game of this series. However, these teams have played to the Over in each of the three previous games in OKC in this series.
San Antonio Spurs
Dylan Harper had his best game since he scored 24 in the series opener. Devin Vassell and Julian Champagnie combined for 22 points. The team held a 52-42 rebounding edge, made nine more free throws than the Thunder even attempted, and had 30 assists to 12 turnovers, its best performance in that department in the series.
The Spurs are fully healthy, but De’Aaron Fox still seems off. He is averaging just 10.3 points since he returned from being sidelined for the first two games of this series. That includes a total of 14 points in the past two games. For San Antonio to advance, Wemby needs to have a Wemby-like performance and maintain that advantage on the boards, but Fox and Castle need to get the job done on the perimeter as well.
Oklahoma City Thunder
Jalen Williams was cleared just before tip-off on Thursday after missing the previous three games, but what was the point? He played 10 minutes and scored one point, missing his only field goal attempt. If OKC has to walk on eggshells to get him into the game, keep him out.
Ajay Mitchell has missed three straight games, and he is out tonight as well. Jared McCain looked up to the task of replacing both Williams’ and Mitchell’s minutes in Game 5 when he scored 20 points. He still had 13 on Thursday, but it didn’t feel the same. Alex Caruso again struggled on the road. He is averaging 15.3 points in this series, but just 7.3 away from home, where he has averaged 23.3 points per game this series. OKC will surely want the home version of Caruso tonight.
NBA Prediction: Who Will Win Spurs vs. Thunder?
What a weird series. Two teams with more than 60 regular-season wins are matching up in a conference finals, but no game has been decided by fewer than seven points. Four contests have been decided by 13 points or more.
The Spurs should have the momentum back on their side, but we have been in this exact position in this series already. And the defending champs showed their mettle as well. Look for OKC to use the home court advantage and advance with a 122-114 victory.
