As it stands, Los Angeles is a -120 betting favourite on the MLB odds, while Philadelphia is a +100 underdog. In terms of the runline, you can bet the Dodgers at +1.5 at odds of -205, while the Phillies are -1.5 and carry odds of +168. For the total, it has been set at 8.5 runs. You can bet on Over 8.5 runs at odds of +100, while betting on Under 8.5 runs would give you odds of -122. 

As it pertains to current trends, the Phillies are 4-1 SU in their last five games, while the Dodgers are 5-0 SU over the same stretch. Additionally, the Under is 6-0 in the Phillies’ last six games, while the Under is 5-2 over the Dodgers’ last seven games.

Philadelphia Phillies

The Phillies enter this game with a record of 29-27 and are in second place in the NL East division. Philadelphia is also riding a three-game win streak after sweeping the San Diego Padres, and is scheduled to start Zack Wheeler in Game 1 of this series. 

Wheeler has made a total of six starts this season, and has posted a record of 4-0, with an ERA of 1.67. More impressively, Wheeler has allowed just four earned runs on the road this season across four starts in 25.1 innings (1.42 ERA).

It is also important to note that the Phillies have won all six of Wheeler’s starts, suggesting that the Phillies could be in line for their fourth straight win.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers enter this game with a record of 36-20 and are in first place in the NL West division. Like the Phillies, the Dodgers are also riding a win streak, theirs being five games. Looking to extend this streak, Los Angeles is scheduled to start Justin Wrobleski in Game 1 of this series. Wrobleski has a record of 6-2 and has an ERA of 3.07.

While his overall numbers have been solid, he has not been the most consistent at home this season. Wrobleski has allowed 10 earned runs across four appearances (three starts) in 26.2 innings (3.38 ERA).

MLB Prediction: Who Will Win Phillies vs. Dodgers?

Even though the Dodgers are the small favourite, the Phillies look to be the best betting option. Los Angeles has the advantage over Philadelphia in many of the major categories; however, there is no question that the Phillies have the starting pitching advantage. 

The most runs Wheeler has allowed on the road this season was two, and that was his 2026 season debut against the Atlanta Braves. Since then, he has allowed a total of two runs over his last three road starts. 

Given that Wheeler has been so tough to score on, backing the Philadelphia Phillies to win by a score of 5-2 is my best bet.
