A Name Chosen by Fans

The name “Tempo” was selected after a public engagement program that saw over 10,000 fans contribute their ideas. Team President Teresa Resch explained, “Tempo is pace. It’s speed. It’s a heartbeat. And it’s what you feel when you step into the streets of this city, and in the energy of the people who call Canada home.”

Okay. But, the logo is a bit of a snooze, if you ask me.

Home Court and Future Plans

The Tempo will play their home games at the Coca-Cola Coliseum, an 8,500-seat venue at Exhibition Place. There are also plans to host games in other Canadian cities, such as Vancouver and Montreal, to engage fans nationwide.

Coaching and Ownership

The franchise is owned by Kilmer Sports Ventures, led by Larry Tanenbaum, a prominent figure in Toronto’s sports landscape and chairman of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment. Teresa Resch, formerly a vice president with the Toronto Raptors, brings a wealth of experience to her role as team president.

As of now, the Toronto Tempo have not announced their head coach or coaching staff. Fans eagerly await updates as the team continues to build its roster and leadership in preparation for the 2026 season.
