Minnesota Lynx vs Connecticut Sun Prediction: WNBA Betting Odds
Connecticut is still in a position to overtake the New York Liberty for the number two seed in the league. They’re only one game behind but failed to capitalize on New York’s own defeat on the weekend as the Sun fell prey to the Lynx at home, 87-83. The victory meant a lot for Minnesota, who remains on the bubble for fourth place even though they can never seem to quite get there.

Lynx vs Sun Betting Odds
Tuesday night is not only the second of a back-to-back series between these rivals but already the fourth meeting of the season. The Sun had captured the first two before losing on Sunday. Of note, the road team has won every time so far. Two of the games were decided by five points or less.
Minnesota has improved its performances against the spread to a respectable 14-11-1 on the season by covering in their last three opportunities. They’ve been pegged as considerable road underdogs against the Liberty and Sun yet emerged victorious both times. Completing this three-game set, albeit twice against the same team, would be an impressive run. Sparks have flown for four contests in a row, as the over has earned the spoils in each.
Connecticut definitely doesn’t cover the spread as often as they outright win, but their efforts have been respectable. The club is 14-10-1 on the season ATS. It’s an improvement from earlier, having gone 6-2 in their last eight opportunities. The over and under swap streaks when it comes to Sun games. The over has connected in the last two, but that was after under did so four times in a row, which itself followed up on five on the run for the over.
Minnesota Lynx
If Minnesota does, in fact, take charge of their season and makes a push for a top four seed, they can look back at what they accomplished on this difficult road trip.
Short of blowing out the hosts, road performances don’t get better than how the Lynx played against the Sun. They won every quarter except the last, never led by more than nine points but also refused to let the Sun take over the game. It was as composed as a road team can play, especially against such strong opposition. Minnesota also made their shots easy with great ball movement. It went a long way to finishing the contest with a sensational 57.4 per cent shooting. Conversely, their defensive hounding made Connecticut’s attempts more laborious.
To cap it off, the sources of offence were diverse. Kayla McBride netted 19, Lindsay Allen added 16, Aerial Powers came off the bench to put up 14, as did Jessica Shepard for 12.
Connecticut Sun
You win some and you lose some. That’s what the Sun need to tell themselves after the mediocre performance at home on Sunday. They’re a very good team that’s having a strong season. They just didn’t play well the first time around against the Lynx.
As alluded to in the previous section, Minnesota was simply the better team. Connecticut shots looked difficult, hence the paltry 38.9 field goal efficiency. They netted a decent amount from the free throw line (24-for-27) but were horrid from beyond the arc (3-for-17). Defensively, they allowed many Lynx players to sneak behind them for easy layups. DeWanna Bonner had one of her most productive games of the season, tallying 31 points. Conversely, in a microcosm of the game, she went for a game-winning three with seconds remaining but the shot was deflected and fell harmlessly far from the basket. Alyssa Thomas continued her terrific campaign with 17 points, 14 boards and 12 dimes.
