English Premier League 2025-26: Matchweek 1 Odds and Betting Predictions
Plenty of teams have a lot to prove this season, with Leeds, Burnley, and Sunderland getting promoted from the Championship. Can Liverpool defend their title this season? EPL Liverpool vs. Bournemouth best bet: Liverpool -1.5 -138
Liverpool are the defending EPL champions, claiming the title with 84 points and a +45 goal difference, which was the best in the league. Mohamed Salah, the golden boot winner with 29 goals on the season, should be a major threat to Bournemouth’s defense, while the Reds have also bolstered their attack with record signing Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike.
Bournemouth is a competent team, though, with Justin Kluivert, Antoine Semenyo, and Evanilson scoring 10, 11, and 12 goals respectively last season. But with Liverpool’s defense now boasting Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez to the flanks, the Reds should be able to pacify the Cherries and comfortably pick up their first three points of the season at Anfield.
EPL Manchester United vs. Arsenal best bet: Draw +250
These teams have faced each other 244 times in their illustrious histories. Manchester United have won 99 of those matchups, while Arsenal boast 90 victories. There have been 55 draws, and that could be added to here.
While United are often viewed as the bigger club, they finished the 2024-2025 Premier League season in 15th place with just 42 points and a -10 goal difference. Arsenal, on the other hand, finished second place with 74 points and a +35 goal difference.
Arsenal may be the favourite on paper in this matchup because of their strong returning squad, but we did see the previous meeting between these two finish 1-1 and we could be in for a similar result here. These two often play out close battles, and with it being the start of the season and home advantage for United, the Red Devils should be able to frustrate Arsenal and secure a point.
EPL Chelsea vs. Crystal Palace best bet: Chelsea ML -175
Both of these teams have had positive summers, with Chelsea winning the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup while Crystal Palace edged Liverpool to claim the Community Shield last week. Chelsea suffered a slow start to their 2024-25 campaign, but eventually rallied to finish fourth to secure Champions League soccer while also claiming the UEFA Conference League. Cole Palmer led the way with 15 goals, while Nicolas Jackson also contributed 10.
Crystal Palace finished 12th in the standings with 53 points, but victory in the FA Cup earned them the first piece of silverware in their history. While there are plenty of good vibes in south London, Chelsea are riding a huge wave of momentum after trouncing PSG 3-0 in the Club World Cup final. With the recent additions of Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, and Horrel Hato, the Blues should have enough quality to secure a comfortable win in their first game of the season.
