2025 MLS Cup Final Preview and Prediction: Inter Miami vs. Vancouver Whitecaps

This weekend marks the first time in MLS history that both Inter Miami and the Vancouver Whitecaps have reached the MLS Cup Final. It’s also the first time in nine years that two brand-new MLS Cup Final teams meet.

A win for the Whitecaps makes them the second Canadian team to win the MLS Cup (Toronto FC in 2017), while a victory for Inter Miami would be a fitting end to both Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba’s legendary careers. You won’t want to miss Thomas Müller taking on Leo Messi in the MLS Cup Finals, with kickoff set for this Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET.

Inter Miami vs. Vancouver Whitecaps MLS Cup Final Odds and Betting Trends

Third place in the Eastern Conference faces second place in the West during the regular season. In total, Miami has only played Vancouver three times, with two of those games being the two legs of the 2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup Semifinals, won by Vancouver 5-1 on aggregate.

Miami had more points in the regular season, so they have home-field advantage at Chase Stadium this weekend. They carry -135 odds to win in regulation and -240 odds to win the Cup. Vancouver is set to win in 90’ at +290 odds while their chances of winning the Cup are marked at +185 odds. While the Under 3.5 is favoured at -135, I expect the Over 3.5 at +105 odds to cash with the firepower of both squads.

Vancouver Whitecaps

The Whitecaps saw their Western Conference Semifinals end with a 2-2 draw in regulation and overtime and a 4-3 victory on PKs against LAFC, but they absolutely thrashed the No. 1 seed San Diego FC 3-1 on away turf in the Conference Finals. They’ve got a courageous heart and will to win this season, as they now head to away grounds once again in Chase Stadium for one last showdown.

Brian White was critical in leading the way to victory against San Diego with two goals to lead his team in the postseason charts, and he comes into this matchup ready to score anytime at +185 odds. Thomas Müller (one postseason goal) follows up his teammate at +260 odds to find the back of the net anytime. Allende

Inter Miami

This has to be Inter Miami’s year, as they went on to score the highest number of goals in the MLS regular season (81) and currently have the most in the playoffs (17) by a long shot, with their recent 5-1 crushing of New York City FC in the Conference Finals. Miami’s Tadeo Allende overtook Messi in postseason goals with eight now, as he netted a hat-trick in the 89’, while Silveti (67’) and Segovia (83’) each added to the tally.

Who else but Lionel Messi would be the afternoon’s top anytime goalscorer at -170 odds with six postseason goals and seven assists? Luis Suarez follows up Messi with +100 odds to score, although putting your money on Tadeo Allende to strike at +205 would be your best bet with his form hot as lava.

MLS Cup Final Prediction: Who Will Win Inter Miami vs. Vancouver Whitecaps?

The Whitecaps are undoubtedly one of the strongest teams to make an MLS Cup Final in recent years after reaching the CONCACAF Champions Cup Finals last year, nearly winning the Supporters’ Shield this season, and taking home the Canadian Championship. But with the stars aligning for Inter Miami, it just has to be the Herons’ year this season, as they can’t stop piling in goals with 17 this postseason compared to Vancouver’s nine.

Lionel Messi has single-handedly evolved the MLS, breaking barriers with 37 goals and 26 assists combined in the regular and postseason. It would be terribly unfitting for Miami to lose this one with the way things are shaping up, especially considering Taedo Allende (eight playoff goals) and Mateo Silvetti (two playoff goals) are nearly as big a threat on the pitch as the legendary Argentine.

All things considered, Inter Miami will take the MLS Cup Trophy in 90’ with a 3-1 victory (Over 3.5 at +105), giving Messi his first MLS Cup Trophy, and the Spanish nationals of Bousquets and Alba the perfect send-off to their careers.
