Canada can start game planning for their first opponent at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Canadians will open the tournament against Bosnia and Herzegovina on June 12 at BMO Field in Toronto. Bosnia announced their full 26-man squad on Monday.

Edin Dzeko will lead the charge as the captain of the national team. The 40-year-old plays as a striker for German club Schalke 04, who just earned a promotion to the top tier Bundesliga. Dzeko tallied six goals in 10 appearances for Schalke since January after beginning the year with Serie A side Florentina. This will be Dzeko’s second World Cup after representing Bosnia at Brazil 2014.

Canada and Bosnia will be joined in Group B by Switzerland and Qatar. The Swiss are the highest rated team in the group at No. 19 in the FIFA World Rankings, followed by No. 30 Canada, No. 55 Qatar and No. 65 Bosnia.
