2026 Milan-Cortina Olympics: Canada announces men’s hockey roster
Team Canada has announced the 25-man roster for the upcoming 2026 Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina, Italy.

Six players were named to the team over the summer. Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby, who scored the golden goal for Canada in 2010, has already been named, along with Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar, Sam Reinhart and Brayden Point.

Olympic odds
Canada won gold at the Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014 Olympic Games, the last two tournaments with NHL participation. However, they settled for bronze at Pyeongchang in 2018 and failed to medal at all in Beijing in 2022.
Team Canada is an early +135 favourite to win gold in Italy in 2026 on the Olympic hockey futures board, followed by the United States (+190) and Sweden (+525). Canada has the most gold medals (nine) and total medals (16) in men’s Olympic hockey tournament history.
Canada will play in Group A in 2026, along with Czechia, Switzerland and France, with France replacing Russia after they were banned from competition by the International Olympic Committee.
The opening ceremony for the 2026 Olympic Games is set for Feb. 6. The men’s hockey tournament begins on Feb. 11, with Canada opening the preliminary round against Czechia on Feb. 12. the gold medal game is scheduled for Feb. 22.
