Minnesota Wild vs. Chicago Blackhawks Prediction, NHL Odds
Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks have been an early surprise, but they enter Wednesday’s home game against Minnesota on a season-high-tying three-game losing streak. The Wild are streaking in the other direction and -140 favourites with a total of 5.5 on the NHL odds.

Because the NHL is going dark on Thursday for the American Thanksgiving holiday, it’s a massive schedule on Wednesday with 30 of the league’s 32 teams in action. The only ones that are not are Edmonton and Los Angeles.
These clubs are going in opposite directions as Chicago has dropped a season-high-tying three straight but avoided a four-game skid the previous two. Minnesota started this season terribly but is finally rounding into form on a season-high five-game winning streak.
Wednesday is the first of four regular-season meetings between the Central Division rivals. Chicago hadn’t been very good for a while and has lost four straight season series pretty handily, including by a 3-1 tally in 2024-25. Matt Boldy (1G, 4A) led the Wild with five points in the series, while Jared Spurgeon (4G), Marcus Foligno (2G, 2A) and Kirill Kaprizov (1G, 3A) each had four. Filip Gustavsson started three of the four and was 2-0-1 with a 2.31 GAA and .904 SV.
Connor Bedard (1G, 2A) and Ryan Donato (2G, 1A) led Chicago with three points each. Petr Mrazek started three of the four in net but is now with Anaheim. Arvid Soderblom lost his start, allowing three goals.
Minnesota is 9-1 SU in the past 10 meetings and the over-under is 2-7-1.

It took the Wild to get healthy and their goaltending to get going, but everything is working now on a five-game winning streak in which Minnesota has allowed just five total goals with three shutouts.
Rookie Jesper Wallstedt was in net for Sunday’s 3-0 win in Winnipeg, and the Wild have been pretty much alternating guys so it should be Filip Gustavsson here. He blanked the Penguins in Pittsburgh in his last outing and has a 1.95 GAA in six starts this month.
The Wild have recorded consecutive games with a different goaltender earning a shutout in each for the second time in franchise history. The other instance: Feb 10-12, 2003 when it was Manny Fernandez and then Dwayne Roloson.
Minnesota is the first team to lead or be tied for at least 480 straight regulation minutes since the Canucks from Jan. 8-24, 2024. The Wild amazingly have scored first in 12 straight games. That’s the longest run by any team since Colorado with 13 in a row from 2021-22.
On Monday, the club put winger Vinnie Hinostroza (2G, 3A) on injured reserve, joining fellow forwards Ryan Hartman, Marco Rossi and Vladimir Tarasenko on IR. The under is 6-1 in the Wild’s past seven.
Chicago Blackhawks
Chicago is a young team still learning to win so while the Blackhawks are definitely much improved they still have those swings of inconsistency, and they are in one of those on this three-game skid following a 1-0 home loss to Colorado on Sunday.
After being outshot 11-2 in the first period, the Avalanche outshot the Blackhawks 24-11 in the second and third periods. Connor Bedard had a third straight game without a goal but is having a terrific month with seven goals and 10 helpers. His nine total goals this season at home are among the league leaders.
Spencer Knight was a tough-luck loser to fall to 7-5-3 with a 2.38 GAA and .924 SV. One piece of good news was Jason Dickinson returning to the lineup after missing 10 games with an upper-body injury.
Another forward, Andre Burakovsky (7G, 8A), has missed the past two and didn’t practice Monday so he’s likely on the wrong side of iffy. The under is 8-3 in Chicago’s past 11 at home.
