Dallas Stars vs. Seattle Kraken Game 6 Prediction, NHL Odds

After a 5-2 win at home in Game 5 on Thursday, Dallas took their first lead of the series, 3-2 in the best-of-seven. They won three straight in their first-round matchup with the Minnesota Wild to eliminate them and will look to do the same against Seattle.

The Stars are the favourites to win on the NHL odds at -153 and the total like the last game, is 6 goals. Puck drop from Climate Pledge Arena is set for 9:30 PM ET on Thursday.

Stars vs. Kraken NHL Playoffs Betting Odds

After pushing the Kraken to the brink on Thursday, Dallas has been moved to heavy favourites on our series board, currently sitting at -556 to advance, while Seattle is at +449. That the series should end in Game 6 is the most favoured outcome, but the Kraken pushing it to a seventh game pays out at +128.

This head-to-head has been high-scoring all year long, with all eight games hitting the Over. Seven goals have been scored in four of the five games so far in this series. No team has scored more than the Stars so far this postseason, notching 42 goals through 11 games (3.9 per game average).

After the series opener, the winning team covered the spread in all four games and only one of those games was within two. The Kraken have not been great at home during the playoffs currently boasting a 2-3 record.

Dallas Stars

After a successful regular season together, Stars head coach Pete DeBoer reunited his number one line of Jason Robertson, Joe Pavelski and Roope Hintz in Game 5 and likely wished he did it sooner. The trio single-handedly won this game for Dallas scoring three of their five goals and combined for eight points.

Hintz seems to have found his game again after leading the first round in scoring. He scored twice on Thursday night, added an assist and is currently tied for the lead again with 18 points. Pavelski had another goal in Game 5 and has scored in every game but one for a total of eight points (7G 1A) in this series. Robertson has yet to score a goal but has registered four assists in the past two games.

The Stars also got goals from Wyatt Johnston (3rd) and an empty netter from Radek Faska (1st), while Jake Oettinger had a solid night in net stopping 29 0f 31 shots.

The Stars have a chance to move onto the Conference finals for the first time since 2020 when they lost in the cup final.

Seattle Kraken

Despite the lopsided final score of 5-2, the game was tight until the final horn as the Kraken outshot Dallas 31-21 in the game. Seattle has been scoring in bunches throughout this entire series and did almost the same in Game 5, netting back-to-back in the second period to cut the Stars’ lead from 3-0 to 3-2. Defenceman Adam Larsson scored for the second game in a row and Jared McCann notched his first of the playoffs. McCann scored in his second contest after returning from an injury that he suffered in Game 4 of the first round. The team’s lone 40-goal scorer was expected to give them a significant boost offensively.

Goalie Philipp Grubauer had a tough night stopping just 16 of the 20 shots he faced. After being solid in the beginning of the playoffs he is in a bit of a rough patch in the second round, posting a save percentage of over .900 just once through five games.

After having little to no pressure this entire season, the Kraken now find themselves in the hot seat, desperate for back-to-back wins to advance in the playoffs.
