Dallas Stars vs. Winnipeg Jets Prediction, NHL Odds

The Jets have been on a roll themselves as they’ve picked up wins in five of their last six.

Both teams have played fairly well this season and are No. 1 and No. 2 in the Central Division. Which squad will maintain their strong play and add to their point total on Tuesday?

Stars vs. Jets NHL Betting Odds

The Stars have won six straight against Western Conference foes and four in a row against teams in the Central Division. Plus, the Stars have won all four of their recent meetings with the Jets. Over has come through in four straight for them

As for the Jets, they have won eight nine at home. The under has been reliable when they’re at home as it’s cashed in each their last games in front of their home audience. The under is also 6-0-2 in their past eight games against teams with a winning percentage over .600.

Dallas Stars

The Stars have been phenomenal at both ends of the ice so far this season. They are tied for third in the league when it comes to goals scored per game at 3.83 and are second in the league in goals against at 2.25. It’s not surprising to see when a team is excelling in these two areas that they’re at the top of the standings. As we get set for Tuesday’s affair, the Stars lead the Central Division with 17 points.

Something that might set the Stars back though is the injury to their star goaltender Jake Oettinger. Oettinger is statistically the best goalie in the league right now, but he’s missed the past three games with an upper-body injury. It looks like he’s set to miss this one as well. This leaves backup goalie Scott Wedgewood in a spot start and he’ll have big shoes to fill. He’s allowed a total of six goals in his last three starts and has a .908 save percentage on the season, so he has played well enough to keep this squad afloat while Oettinger is out.

Winnipeg Jets

While the Stars thrive in net, so do the Jets. Winnipeg is ranked third in goals allowed at 2.46, which is below the Stars (at 2.25). Winnipeg has seen excellent production out of Connor Hellebuyck, who is 6-2-1 with a 2.09 GAA and a .936 save percentage. However, backup David Rittich is 1-1-0 with a 3.07 GAA and a .885 percentage, so double-check the starter before laying your bets.

Defense is the main priority for the Jets as their offense has yet to really find a rhythm. They remain in the bottom half of teams in goals scored per game with Josh Morrissey remaining their most productive weapon. Morrissey is leading them with 11 points, 10 of them coming from assists. This group will need to step up to face Dallas competitively.
