It’s been 19 long years since the Dallas Stars have won consecutive post season series and now they have a chance to do just that with a win in game six. After falling in game three of this best of seven series, the Stars have battled back with two wins, and now can advance with a win on Friday.

Stars vs. Flames NHL Stanley Cup Odds

Sports Interaction opened game six with the Dallas Stars as the -127 favourites to win the game. The Flames are +106 underdogs.

No surprise that the Stars are now listed at +550 to win the Western conference as they are just one game away from advancing to the second round. The Flames are marked at +1200 to do the same.

Interesting note, these two teams have been going back and forth on high – low goal totals. In four games, they have gone over the number twice, under twice and one push. Currently, for a fifth consecutive game that goal total is at 5.

Dallas Stars

Stars Goaltender Anton Khudobin made his third straight start in game five of this series, and he keeps getting better and better. The 34 year old kicked out kicked out 28 shots and stifled the Flames offence for much of the game. Ben Bishop is still unfit to play according to a lot of news outlets, so expect Khudobin to continue to get the call.

Defenceman John Klingberg picked a good time to score his first goal of the NHL restart. His third period marker was the game-winning goal. Earlier in the game Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn hooked up for a short-handed goal to open the scoring.

The Stars have peppered the Flames net with 129 shots on goal in the last three games resulting in two wins. That’s an average of 43 shots per game.

Calgary Flames

The Flames are trying to get out of the first round of the post season for only the second time since 2004, where they lost to the Lightning in the Stanley Cup final. Now, after dropping the last two games of the series, the Flames find themselves in their first elimination game of the NHL restart.

For a third consecutive game, the Flames played without Matthew Tzachuk. Tzachuk left game two after taking a stick from Jamie Benn off a faceoff but returned to the game. Later, he was sandwiched by a hit from Benn and Jamie Oleksiak, and did not return. His status for game six is unknown at this time.
