Stars vs. Flames NHL Stanley Cup Odds
Sports Interaction opened game four with both teams at the exact same number. The Flames and Stars both come in at -110 on the money line. The Flames puck line (+1.5) is listed +275, while the Stars puck line (-1.5) is marked at -228.
It is no surprise to see the Flames having the edge in taking the series, currently at -213, with the Stars at +161.
Interesting note, these two teams combined for nine goals in game two, and then followed it up with only two goals in game three but the goal total game for four is still listed at an even five. There is a slight edge to that number going over the mark at -130 at Sports Interaction.
Dallas Stars
The Stars goaltending carousel continues to spin in Edmonton as the team went back to backup Anton Khudobin in game three and took the loss. Ben Bishop made his first start since August 3 (vs. Vegas) in game two. He stopped 22-of-26 shots he faced to got credit for the win. There is some talk that Bishop may still be unfit to play.
Miro Heiskanen saw his three game point scoring streak come to an end in game three.
Radek Faksa had a rough game for the Stars Friday night as the Centre was the on the ice for both Calgary Flames goals in game three.
Calgary Flames
Goaltender Cam Talbot was the story in game three and what a story it was. Talbot, who allowed five goals on 36 shots in game two bounced back big. Talbot stopped all 35 shots he faced to record his second shutout since the restart, giving the Flames the 2-0 win in game three.
The Flames special teams continue to be a major story of the restart. For the second time in as many games the team scored a short-handed goal, this time from Mikael Backlund. The power-play is ranked second among all remaining NHL teams, scoring at 29.2 percent.
The Flames played without Matthew Tzachuk in game three. Tzachuk left game two after taking a stick from Jamie Benn off a faceoff but returned to the game. Later, he was sandwiched by a hit from Benn and Jamie Oleksiak, and did not return. His status for game four is unknown at this time. The Flames dressed centre Alan Quine for the first time since the restart. Zac Rinaldo also saw action for the first time since August 3 when he played against the Winnipeg Jets.
