Dallas Stars vs. Vancouver Canucks Prediction, NHL Odds
The Dallas Stars are in Vancouver to take on the Canucks at Rogers Arena on Monday night.
Dallas’ 81 points on the season are the second-most in the NHL, and Glen Gulutzan’s squad seems poised for another Stanley Cup playoff run. On the other side, Vancouver’s 43 points are the fewest in the league, and it appears that a rebuild is already in motion for the Canucks.
These teams have met twice already this season. The Canucks won by a score of 5-3 on October 16, and the Stars got their revenge with a 4-2 victory on November 20. Vancouver has won two of the last three meetings, but Dallas has won five of the last seven going back to 2023.
Stars vs. Canucks NHL Betting Odds
The Stars own a 36-14-9 record on the season, while the Canucks are 18-34-7. With Dallas so far ahead of Vancouver in the standings, it’s not surprising to see the Stars listed as heavy favourites on the NHL odds in this matchup. Dallas enters with odds of -192 on the moneyline while Vancouver is at +160.
When it comes to the puckline, both teams have had their issues. Dallas is 24-35-0 against the spread, while Vancouver is 26-33-0. In this matchup, Dallas -1.5 is valued at +130, with Vancouver +1.5 is available at -155. The game total is set at 5.5, with the Over juiced to odds of -130 and the Under listed at +110. The Stars are 28-30-1 to the Over, while the Canucks are 32-25-2.
Dallas’ Jason Robertson (+110) and Wyatt Johnston (+125) have the shortest odds to score a goal in this contest. Robertson is tied for sixth in the NHL with 33 goals on the season, and Johnston isn’t far behind him tied for eighth in the league with 32 goals of his own. With Mikko Rantanen out with a lower-body injury, both Robertson and Johnston will be relied upon more than usual. With odds of +265, Brock Boeser has the shortest odds to score a goal for Vancouver. He has 12 goals in 52 games this season.
Dallas Stars
The Dallas Stars enter this matchup riding a nine-game win streak that goes back to January 23. They won seven in a row prior to the Olympic break, and have picked up right where they left off with wins over the Kraken and Predators to begin the post-Olympic schedule.
The Stars own arguably the most well-rounded roster in the NHL, which has translated to ranking ninth in goals per game (3.32) and third in goals per game allowed (2.71). Along with a deep forward group, a great defensive core and a bona fide No. 1 goaltender in Jake Oettinger, it’s no wonder why the Stars are among the Stanley Cup favourites in early March.
Rantenen is slated to be out for at least two weeks, which is undoubtedly a tough blow. However, Dallas has enough elite forward depth that it should still be able to keep things rolling offensively.
Vancouver Canucks
The Vancouver Canucks are enduring a rough season in 2025-26. Things have gotten really bad since the calendar flipped to 2026, as Vancouver is just 2-14-4 since the beginning of January. They have the fewest points in the NHL by a wide margin, and it seems that will be the case throughout the remainder of the regular season.
Scoring goals on a consistent basis has been a tough task for the Canucks this season, as they rank 30th in the NHL, scoring 2.51 goals per game. Their leading scorer is Elias Pettersson, who has 35 points on 13 goals and 22 assists in 51 games. Trading away superstar defenseman Quinn Hughes earlier this season made life even more difficult on the Vancouver offensive attack, and the move signalled that a lengthy rebuild may already be in motion.
The Canucks are just 6-17-5 on home ice, and going up against a well-rounded team like the Stars presents another tough challenge.
NHL Prediction: Who Will Win Stars vs. Canucks?
The Stars are the heavy favourites for a reason. Dallas’ elite goal-scoring ability as well as their solid defensive structure and reliable goaltending gives them the advantage over the Canucks in just about every major aspect. However, the injuries can’t be ignored. Rantenen is out for two weeks, Tyler Seguin is out for the year, and Roope Hintz is a game-time decision. The Stars should still be able to leave with a win, but the Canucks could hang around and make this one interesting.
In the end, I expect the Stars to extend their win streak to 10 games with a 3-2 victory over Vancouver.
